If you do not enjoy seafood it would be a difficult smell to tolerate, but unfortunately that is how a seafood boil smells no matter what place you dine. To me, I can't wait to be 'in the middle of it', as I enjoy seafood in most forms. On days we didn't eat at Cape May, but passed through it, made us want to dine there. We did dine there at least twice each trip. That was pre covid tho' and not near as tempting now, hopefully their regular items from buffet will return minus the crab legs - know the all you can eat of those will never return.
Buffet. Absolutely delicious, and I am not someone who thinks things are good just bc it’s Disney. Had Mickey waffles, a brioche French toast slice, eggs, and their tofu veggie dish, and it was SO good.
It isn't really the "seafood" smell as much as the seasonings (old bay etc) that perpetuate the aroma we associate with seafood. I bought a frozen crab boil and we cooked it Friday. My entire house smelled of Old Bay and all I could think of was Cape May Cafe. It took the air purifier on max and opening windows for about 24 hours to clear it out.
But at least I didn't have to pay extra for the crab legs

I live in Maryland and used to work at a seafood carry out. So I know the difference between old bay and bad seafood it’s definitely a smell. It’s like when we enjoy crabs, always better to eat outside to keep the smell outside . It’s been over 5 years since I’ve eaten at cape may and don’t remember a seafood smell or any bad smell haha.
