Has anyone decorated their Magic Bands? Please show us the pictures!

Okay so I'm really finished now! I need to step awayyyy from the crystals.

Swarovski crystal bands.

Pink has 86 stones and gold has 173 stones. My back is sore now haha!

These look great! What kind of glue did you use? I had rhinestones on my band in June and I lost a couple near the Mickey head. I am guessing from having to tap the scanner. Apparently I need better glue.

I just used a whole heck of a lot of nail polish. Those suckers are secure. If you want to use glue, I recommend E6000 glue. Just use it in a well ventilated area!

Thanks! Did you paint the nailpolish right over the stones? Sorry if I am asking a million questions! I had used a top coat around the stone on my last band and still lost a few. Maybe my issue was that I didn't paint over them...

I set the stones in what I would call globs of nail polish, then painted over them about 4 times after they dried completely, paying special attention to get around the edges of each stone. No problems with the stone clarity. I used swarovski crystal flatback crystals in crystal AB (large) and in just crystal (small ones). I think they are 18ss and 12ss in size.

I haven't used it at the park yet, but I smacked it on my kitchen table a few times to test impact and nothing budged.

Thank you for the specifics! I think I will trying this method. Where did you get the crystals? I had used just stick ons from Michaels which I am sure was not the best quality.

Just got back from trip and painted magicbands held up great, only had some cracking(used top coat not base coat) near the holes where they snapped together, if you don't paint all the way into that area, there should be no problem. Epcot, MagicKingdom and whole day at Typhoon Lagoon and they all still look great...now for everyone doing or thinking of painting/decorating them...DO IT...I was looking to see everyone else's creations in the parks and I never saw any(some had the magicbits and slides but no diy stuff) so even just a simple outline of the mickey head is unique and awesome. Everyone make your bands your own and have a blast with them. We had some comments from guests but mostly cast members, one photopass photographer thought my Nightmare before Xmas one was some of the new merchandise coming out for halloween...it was pretty cool.

I just took them from my supply I keep at my house haha. Skating thing, I stone my own dresses so I always have some lying around.

Usually though I order my crystals in bulk from dreamtime creations. Michaels has the swarovski flatbacks also. Just try to get them with one of the 40% off coupons, it's more expensive for the small packs there than ordering by the gross online. You can also order small packs from amazon. (:

Glad to hear that you and your bands had a great trip.

I agree with you that the painted bands tend to crack around the holes. I've noticed that too.

I am here at WDW now. I have been keeping an eye out for decorated bands and haven't seen any yet. Ours have been getting quite a bit of attention from cm's too. My family thinks its cool. :thumbsup2

I agree! Even though nobody has noticed mine (yet!), I love having my magic band that I decorated. I guess mine is not as great as yours are. lol That's okay...I do want to get another one so that I can have my own Nightmare MB.

That is pretty cool about the photopass photographer, but that band is pretty special.

Someone else did a pink one somewhat like this earlier and I liked it so much I made one similar but added clouds. I'm not an artist but here is my "Up" themed band. Painted with acrylic paints. Can't wait to show it off in the parks next week.

Thanks! I have some of the ones you can transfer on to fabric so those might work if I can find them.

I used to do that, too - it's been so long for me (switched from skating to ballroom dancing) that I probably can't find any of my left over stones, etc.

I did buy some of the Michaels crystals, so if I don't like them on my practice band, maybe I'll either buy some Swarovski, or mooch 'em from my dance coach.

Super cute! Great job! I love the hidden Mickey ;)

These are my 5th set of MB I have decorated by using temp tattoos. I find this method easiest for me since I'm not able to free hand.

My DH's MB is Spider-Man

I'm waiting by my mailbox because my magic bands are OUT FOR DELIVERY!!

And then it's back to the painting board. :)

I did mine & my DD's mb. My DH didn't want his done. I did have trouble with using the base coat on the grey part of the bands, it clumped easily there. I'm not sure why. Sorry pics are big, tried resizing, but it didn't work
