has anyone bought their gown ONLINE?

I'm not brave enough! wwaaayyy too paranoid to do that, but I have heard of ppl having great success, just don't know how trusting i am of people that may rip me off!

I thought about because I was 99% certain of the dress I wanted, however, I am glad I did try it on first because I ended up ordering a size smaller than I would have ordered online after trying it on in the store. :-)

I bought a veil online, invitations and monogrammed totes! Very happy! Once you try the dress on, I would then order it online.

I bought mine new on e-bay, but first I went to try on gowns locally. I agree that if it is good enough buy it might be worth the risk. But I too was looking on line at the wrong style and size. I found the perfect dress and knew what size I needed then went to e-bay. I saved over $600.

I bought mine on Ebay. It was a custom made for me dress but the first time I tried it on was only 3/4 weeks before the wedding. I loved it and would not have done it any differently. :)

I am tempted to do this. There's some gorgeous Vera Wang gowns on there. Others on this board have advised me to try on some dresses locally first, to see what type of style I like. So that is what I'm planning to do, then if I see a nice one on Ebay, I can get one the same style.

You can always get them altered to fit, so I'm not too worried about the size. Average priced gowns are so expensive in the UK, and I figured I would have a better chance of reselling a designer one afterwards.

I did a Google search on how to buy a second hand Vera Wang wedding dress, and found that all Vera Wang gowns come with a certificate of authenticity. So, I'm going to avoid the ones that don't have the certificate - just incase they're not genuine. I think anyone buying something so expensive, knowing they would be selling it afterwards will keep the certificate, so that should be a safe bet. Apparently, if you take your second-hand gown into an official Vera Wang store, they can also check it for authenticity.

I bought my dress off of Ebay. I was nervous at first, because I didn't know how reputable the guy was. I found out who made the dress, and it was a company in England. It would have cost me twice as much to order the dress from them and have it shipped. I asked them about the gentleman selling the dresses on Ebay, and they said he was their US distributer, and that if it was cheaper to go for it. I ended up buying the dress and I love it!

I brought both my dress and my MOH dress off of Ebay. They were custom made and they are beautiful. I $aved lots of money and I wouldn't change anything.
