Has anyone been to Deerfield Beach Florida?

A friend has offered me their condo right on the water in deerfield beach. I haven't found anyone that wants to tag along with me though! So I am thinking of going by myself. Has anyone ever been there? I won't be renting a car or anything, so any info?

You definitely need a car rental to get around. There's not a whole lot to do in Deerfield aside from the beach itself. This link http://www.visitflorida.com/Deerfield_Beach is probably your best bet.

I live between Fort Lauderdale and Deerfield Beach. I actually drive through it every day to get to work. There really isn't much to do besides the beach. You will really need a car if you want to get away from the condo and see more of the area.

Thanks for the info. I just got a response back from the condo and they said there is an amtrak (lightrail??) or something across the street and all the restaurants and bars are within walking distance
So I guess I won't need a car at all. And they will pick me up at the airport. I am not worried about sight seeing. As long as there is bars and restaurants in walking distance and shopping

I used to live pretty close to Deerfield. Again, not much to do but beach but it's nice for a weekend trip to relax!
