Has anyone been hit on purpose with a stroller?

I had a woman deliberately ramming me and a CM with a stroller, so I can believe it.

I had put my ticket through the machine to enter MK and the CM opened the gate for me to go through. This woman came running up (there was no line) and started ramming me with her stroller (I guess to get me to go through the gate faster :confused3). Both the CM and I told her to stop. I made it through the gate and the CM was trying to close it so she couldn't get through. She kept ramming the stroller into the gate and then used her hand and was pushing back and forth with the CM until he finally got the gate closed on her. There was a small child in the stroller and I have no idea what the woman was thinking.

OMG, it is so crazy.:rotfl2:

My family was in MK the first week of December attending the MVMCP and when the parade was over everyone started to leave when a lady ran into my 12 year old granddaughter with a stroller with her own child in it. My daughter looked at the lady and then kept walking. Again she ran into my granddaughter's foot. My daughter turned and told the lady to quit hitting her daughter. In response the lady said she would hit her again because she had jumped in front of her. My daughter told the lady she had better not hit her daughter again and when the lady started to do it the third time my son in law put his foot into the stroller to keep it from hitting his daughter.

I have never seen anyone so rude and especially to a child. Come on, there are so many people in Disney that we all have walked in front of someone or accidentaly bumped someone but you say I'm sorry and all is forgiven. The same thing happened to my daughter's son in May. They were in line and a lady with a stroller kept running into the back of my grandson and my daughter asked the lady to stop it and she replied she was trying to get up front. My daughter asked what was they suppose to do when there was no one moving in any direction. She finally said she was sorry.

My point is why do people with strollers think they have the right or the power to run over people must less other children. I had a hurt heel and I was constantly looking over my shoulder hoping that no one would hit me with a stroller or scotter.

Another point I would like to add is the safety factor in Disney. You have to have your bag checked but how many people are carrying knives or guns on them? Something we all should think about!

As someone who has accidentally hit someone with a stroller more than once......and not on purpose.... it happens because the people in front of you stop suddenly or run across your path suddenly. The last time my son was in a stroller (last spring) he weighed 45 pounds. Stopping quickly while pushing 45lb is against the law of physics especially when you only weigh 110lbs. When you weigh only 110lbs you push a stroller with some force and I personally have to try to do a little power walking or I would get no where ever. The power walking helps to get the stroller in motion and an object in motion stays in motion with out power brakes. So with that said I hope it give you new light on the subject. However, that woman's response to you is just unacceptable and rude. :confused3

So ........... popcorn::

All this on your tenth post? Wow. What took you so long? :stir:

Not every person with a stroller behaves this way. Only a very few, and they would be bumping into you if they had a stroller or not. The stroller is not what is making the person behave badly. The person is doing that all on their own. I would venture to guess that 98% of people with strollers do NOT think they have the right or the power to run over people.

I guess that you'd have to look back at the history of Disney since it opened in 1971. How many reports have you seen or heard -- in the news, online, personal accounts, etc -- of people carrying knives or guns on them in the parks? How many knife or gun incidents have you seen reported at Disney? I can remember less than ten. Since 1971. I somehow don't think that this is something that needs to occupy too much of anyone's consciousness as they plan their Disney vacation.

:earsboy:

Good point. I was at WDW DEC when the HUGE POP fight happen (was that last year or the year before?) and empty strollers were flying in the air to clear the paths. Man that was a sight to be seen. And scary...... I think if anyone had a gun or knife it would of appeared in that situation. That was such a weird weekend!

I agree. Also it is sometimes difficult to keep a proper distance when you are not familiar with stroller, I am talking about rental. Anyway, there are very few who would hit someone on purpose.

LOL! and how could you judge a proper stopping distane anyways by counting light post and counting one, one thousand, two one thousand! Honestly, a WDW the flow pattern changes so much and so quickly people just need to be more careful and considerate. This includes walkers, people on ECV's and those pushing strollers as well.

:lmao: Yep, I admit I stopped short many times, so if someone will hit me who should I really blame.

OMG!! That's awful. Seriously, hitting a 12 year old with a stroller??

I mean sure there were times when I wanted to run a rude adult with ours, but never with my child in it! (I would never, regardless.) Yikes. What if the 12 y/o lost her balance and fell on the baby?! Some people really disgust me, I swear.

I haven't been hit with a stroller, but twice with wheelchairs (which are much heavier!)

The first time was done purposefully: I was watching the fireworks and an elderly lady RAMMED her husband's wheelchair into my ankles. When I turned around, she said "You are in my way!" I was shocked, but not injured.

The second time someone accidentally got me with a wheelchair (in the queue for Snow White, so it wasn't like I stepped in front of anyone. He just wasn't looking.) This time it hit HARD and it HURT. I actually started crying. The guy "didn't speak English" and didn't even try to apologize, even when my husband tried to confront him. Later that night, my ankle swelled up to twice its normal size and turned blue.

I don't think it's amusing for anyone to do it, even when you think it's justified for some reason. I'm appalled that someone on here admitted to it.

I was there in November. I was at the rope drop in Toontown at the front. I had my DD(4) and niece(3) in the stroller. My nephew (6) was behind us. We had started walking towards the judges tent and I noticed my nephew wasn't behind me, so I turned and looked and ran into a lady's heel. I felt horrible and apologized profusely, but she kept saying that really hurt and said a couple of other negative things to me :-(. I was only trying to make sure my nephew was nearby and did not mean to run into her and she made me feel so small! It ruined my morning! But luckily the fairies made it better with pixie dust:goodvibes

The nerve of some people. :sad2:

I am just wondering this topic is brought up or when ECV's are mentioned, why do people like to say it was the fault of those getting hit because they stopped in front of those people with strollers or an ECV? I am not flaming you or nothing, but shouldn't the blame be at least 50/50 on both parties involved?

I agree. When driving, if the person in front of you stops suddenly and you hit them, you are at fault because you are supposed to maintain a safe distance. How are the people walking in front of you supposed to know you have a stroller and if they need to stop, they must do it slowly?
And this comes from a card-carrying double stroller pusher.:goodvibes

Exactly and the people walking in front don't have eyes in the back of their heads to see who is behind them and if they have a stroller or are in a ECV.

if you read further and by now I assume you have... I clearly say that all parties walkers, strollers and ECV's need to be more considerate of each other.

You are ONLY fanning the flame...........

Well in my response to you I only said what I did because this thread is not the first time where someone mentions those stopping in front need to look out, so it was just a general comment.

Right and you always comment on the ECV threads as well. So sorry not taking that bait! Enjoy your evening. :3dglasses

You're right, not everyone with a stroller acts that way. That mother put her own child in harms way to by attacking others with the stroller. I still can't believe that someone would say they did it on purpose.

I posted about this when it first happened, but several years ago I was at WDW with my then 9 y/o grandaughter. One day we had watched the AK parade in Africa, right where it starts. After the parade we were trying to exit with the huge crowd behind the parade. Just as we started across that bridge there in Africa a lady rammed into the back of my GD's legs with her big stroller. We both assumed it was an accident and turned to look at her, expecting an apology, and to let her know it was OK. Instead all we got was a glare. OK, fine, but just a few seconds later she did it again, pretty hard this time. We again turned to glance at the lady, noticed that the stroller was empty, and the husband had the child sitting on his shoulders. OK, fine, it was probably an accident again, no problem. However, she did it a third time and you could tell it was intentional. I turned and asked her at first very politely to stop ramming into my GD. Her response was a nasty, "then move! We are in a hurry". I pointed to the crowd and the parade in front of us and asked her just where she expected us to go. We were all trapped in the crowd. As I was talking she again rammed the stroller into my GD's legs, at which point, I stopped, shoved my foot very hard into the stroller pushing it back into her stomach and told her that if she touched my GD one more time with that stroller, I was tossing the stroller over the bridge. She then changed her angle just a little to the left and rammed the stroller into the legs of a man walking beside my GD. She finally managed to squeeze between him and his wife, when the man bent over in pain checking his ankles. Her husband and child squeezed in along with her. I made sure the other man was OK, since she had rammed him even harder than she had my GD. He said he was fine and we continued to talk and walk out, watching the crazy stroller lady ramming everybody in her way on the way out.

Were done here folks. This threadswill only lead to more arguing and Fighting.
