I am just wondering what the kids usually wear to this. For my kids, this will be a once in a lifetime thing and I am leaning more towards Church clothes. (I am also thinking about the picture opportunity here. :) ) We will be going to a couple of the museums/monuments afterwards so I might take a change of clothes for them after the WH.

TIA!

Have a great time! We always wanted to do this, but never have. One year, dh drove to DC to try to get tickets for it and they ran out of tickets before they got near his place in line.

I would imagine that church clothes would be perfect for White House pictures. This is something your kids will always remember. :goodvibes

What an opportunity for you and your kids. Have a great time and do share some photos with us here on the dis.

My sister works for the Prez and has attended the Easter Egg Roll every year since Bush took Office. I asked her and she said church outfits would be fine.

Just to let you know, this year one of the gay and lesbian groups has plans to attend with at least 200 gay and lesbian families. Don't think it's going to be a big protest type thing, just a "we're here and we have families too" type thing. If you are planning to attend and don't want to be seen as part of there protest make sure you don't wear any rainbow stuff. From what I understand, it's not planned to be like gay days at WDW so it shouldn't even be noticiable unless you know what you are looking for.

In any event, I'm sure you will have a blast! make sure the kids and you guys get one of the wooden eggs and bring a little cash for a poster. They have a different artist do one each year and some have been really neat.

Also, if you have older kids who can't take part in the actual roll to get their own egg, they do have them that can be purchased (or at least used to when we were last there in 2000).
