Has anyone added on at a "sold out" resort on a cruise?

We could use some more AKV or BLT points. Just wondering if we could purchase them on the cruise.

If even Disney were to sell them to you, wouldn't it be cheaper to get a resale for the same resort with the same use year?

I'm pretty sure you can - we just added on 25 points at BLT direct over the phone, but the guide mentioned that they had requests for points coming from their "four offices at sea" as well as other DVC sales offices at the various parks.

Yes, but I don't want a lot, and March UY is pretty scarce. I am between "Guides" and we did contact the woman who showed us around Copper Creek via e-mail asking if she could be our guide, she's never answered the e-mail. We're on the 15 night Transatlantic cruise soon, I will find out soon enough if no one knows the answer here.

Is your question about supply or whether you can do it at all? My understanding is that if they don't have the points immediately, they'll call you when they have some available. On a 15-night cruise, its even possible they may come up during the cruise. We waited 24 hours for ours.

Whether they will do it at all. I'll ask for sure!

Please do! I have heard buying on DCL often gets you a nice bonus (onboard credit), but not sure if that would apply to a small add-on at a sold-out resort.

We were on a cruise in March. Before the cruise we took the Copper Creek tour. The incentive there and the onboard credit seemed to us were the same. I think it USED TO BE BETTER to buy on the ship. Now, it is better only if you win the raffle.

Since that cruise we have sold our Ohio house and relocated to Cape May NJ. I want something tangible to remind me of that house, and a small DVC contract is just what I decided it will be.

I'd just call the sales number and buy the points, it'll likely be easier than on the cruise since they may not know inventory quite as well.

We'll do that when we get home if we need to. We'll be away until May 30th.

Good to know, we are going on a Disney cruise to Alaska at the end of August, and I was thinking of trying to do it onboard.

Was able to get 45 AKV points on board. That was within my budget. March UY! I am finished adding on points!:)

Congrats! Thanks for circling around to answer the question ... and adding those famous last words! ;-)
