Has anybody tried John Frieda color glazes?

I have seen them at my neighborhood Walgreens and was considering trying it, but I am a little nervous. I have never colored my hair, and I don't have much grey, but my hair is just getting sort of flat looking. I would love to sort of perk it up without changing it too much. It is medium brown, with both red and blond highlights in it. Would you use the lighter brown, or try the red to perk up the highlights? Help!

You're a braver person than me! I do have some gray and have been coloring my hair for several years. But my hairdresser does it. I pay her a pretty penny, but I don't trust that I could do it as well.

But I can tell you that I started out with 'shading' which is what this sounds like. It took about 5-6 weeks to completely wash out. I am now doing a full blown coloring with a little red in it. But my hair is black and the red actually makes the gray look more like light brown so it gives the illusion of highlights.

I have used it and love it. I was very weary of using it at first. I have dark brown hair with blonde highlights. The highlights are a little too 'ashy' for me and i wanted a little 'honey or carmel' instead. I also have gray...quite alot in the front. Well, it worked. My highlights are more 'golden' in color. The rest of my hair is shiny and healthy looking. If you are trying to bring out the red highlights, try the red glaze. I would probably use the brunette one though, it really did a good job of covering my gray a bit. It increases with color each time you use it. If you don't use it after a few shampoos, it will get lighter. I think if is a great option to play with a tinge of color in your hair. Good luck!

Does it weigh your hair down at all? I have fine curly/frizzy hair, that I straighten, and I have to be careful with silicone products or leave-in conditioners because if I use even a little too much, my hair gets flat and limp looking. It has silicone in it, and the website says it won't weigh hair down, but I wanted to know from someone who has actually used it before. I'm really interested in trying it, and it went on sale at Ulta yesterday.

does this work on color treated hair?
my hair does NOT hold a color well...and any color will wash out to a reddy/brown color...with dark brown roots (yeah - I don't get it either) I just colored my hair on Friday - Feria #58 - Bronze Shimmer or something like that - I LOVE the color of my hair right now...and would love to keep it that way.

so just wondering if the brunette one would work on me to maintain my hair color?
