Has anybody NOT had a disappointing trip lately?

Went in Sept and it was a blast!! First time with FP+ and personally I LOVED that we could sleep in a bit and still have our fastpasses for the day. Everyone was much happier. Loved the ease of switching fast pass times/attractions via the app on my phone, and adding more when we were out. Didn't feel like we lost any spontaneity at all. We were also able to check ride times in the app and knew where to go in the park based on that. Magicbands were a neat experience. We did have a small hiccup checking in, but everyone was very accommodating and the manager gave us 5 free fastpasses per day and gave the kids big plush mickey hands. Heck...DD was even super sick one day and spent all day in the Epcot nurse station and it was still a great week for us :) We found all the cast members to be lovely, we had great dinner service and quick services. As always I was pleased with most restroom conditions, I hate public bathrooms and don't find disney's offensive. I'm not sure why so many are complaining, however I can say it was the opposite for us! DEfinitely go and enjoy yourselves!

We went in October and had a wonderful time! I was really not looking forward to fastpass+ but we ended up really liking it. We are not rope drop people so it worked great getting in headliners via fastpass. I was able to make a lot of changes and that was nice.

We enjoyed our food. Particularly Biergarten, Boma and Sci Fi. All of which we have done before and they did not disappoint. Counter service was also fine.

We had two rooms at Pop, got all our requests met, rooms were spotless, cms great and everything looked clean around our resort and the parks.

Would I like to see some new attractions? Yes, at Epcot in particular. And I'm sick of construction walls but that's how new attractions come to play so I shouldn't complain.

We are going back this October. Its our Happy Place what can I say.

We went in May 2014. Other than my inlaws being on the trip with us, we had a FANTASTIC time. I have never been when I haven't see one dirty bathroom and one cranky castmember. Sometimes it is sheer luck that you just happen to run into a castmember RIGHT after they got yelled at by an irate guest or stepped into the bathroom RIGHT before it was to be cleaned after a huge crowd passed through. However I have always turned the next corner to an extra magical CM or a super clean part of the park. The magic outweights the awful 10:1 most days.

I took 5 Girl Scouts in Jan over MLK weekend and we had a fabulous time! Was I kinda bummed that we couldn't get FP+ for a few headliners? Sure. Was it crowded? Yes! Was the crane up at the Castle "ruining" my pics? Yes, but I'm being facetious, cuz it didn't ruin a thing. Was All Star Movies full to the brim with cheerleaders and Girl Scouts? Can't complain about that since we were part of it! All in all, Disney is still an awesome place to go and while I don't love the changes to FP and I do think it's getting too expensive, once I'm there, I can't help but to have a great time.

We were there in November. Had no issues with rude cast members--or guests, really--and out of the 10 TS meals and 6 or 8 QS meals we only found 2 we wouldn't do again; no major complaints about the food. Didn't find any issues with the bathrooms, and Fastpass+/technology worked fine for us while we were down there. We had a great trip.

My husband and I had a wonderful trip last month, and the kids went with us last September. Both trips were great - we liked the FP+, crowd levels were great and the whole disney experience was just as good if not better than our trips in 2009 - 2013. We are going to Universal this year in August, but we wil still make over to downtown disney for a day or two just to get our disney fix!

I want to go, but am hesitant given such widespread complaints here about oversalted food, disgusting bathrooms, declining service, broken technology, layoffs and defections, crowds, construction, nothing new in years and decay/abandonment of whole areas of parks, rising costs in an increasingly poorly disguised effort to gouge the guest, and diminishing value. Oh, and loss of spontaneity due to FP+. So...still a good destination? Do we all just need an antidepressant and lessons in gratitude? I'm honestly not sure what to expect and whether even to go.

Yes we went in February for our twins' first trip - we've been over 30 times. We had the best trip of our lives and are going back in November.

We may be biased as we are DVC members but Disney is still one of our favorite vacation destinations- especially while our kids are too young to take them abroad reliably

Went in December for a day trip and had the best time! Got A&E and Mine train fastpasses 25 days out, had little to no wait for almost every ride, did 3 parks in one day and accomplished more than we planned :D We were the last people in line accepted for lunch at BOG and we were there 8am-midnight. The ONLY downside was that I woke up the next morning with a sprained ankle :/

We came home a little disappointed in the amount of things we accomplished compared to the old FP system in September and said we wouldn't go back for a few years, but that being said we can't stay away, and we booked again. So I will rephrase my statement about never going back and say, we will just have to learn to adjust, because who am I kidding, I will NEVER skip a year.

Our last trip (September 2013) was fantastic! It's more crowded now than it was when we first started going, but it wasn't enough to make me not want to return. CM's were amazing, food was great, FP+ was in testing so we didn't have to deal with tiers but it was great, and I didn't notice bathrooms being gross or trash everywhere like I've read on the boards..

We just returned from 9 nights at WDW. We had a very nice, relaxing time. Not everything was perfect, but we did not let the bad things ruin our fun. If you don't go into your trip with over inflated expectations, you'll probably have a wonderful time. I think that a lot of first time visitors dream up a perfect paradise and returning visitors often expect to have the same perfect experience that they had in the past. Although your within the Disney "bubble", it still exists within the real world and you can expect to encounter some negative things on your trip, but if you just make the most of the bad and enjoy the good things you will have fun.

other than FP+ system which I'm slowly wrapping my head around after 4 trips:badpc:, I have experienced at least one of the points you mention every trip to WDW, yet still feel they have all been magical and cannot wait to return!

a bad day @ WDW is better than a good day at work

Not that you need any more "proof" but I really like this thread and want to contribute to it. So we haven't been "lately" (our trip was Sept/Oct of 2014) but it was awesome, and we didn't notice anything that people have been ranting about... and I had been looking for them!

We had the BEST TIME and we're going back later this year! :cool1:

We went in September and we had a great time. We have our next trip booked for this September :)

We always have a fantastic time. We never even KNEW fast passes existed before fast pass+ so now it makes it even better.

I never have a bad time ever - and while I can see some being disappointed it's always a good time to me!

I've never had a disappointing TRIP (including the one I'm on now) but have had some disappointing experiences or observations. None have convinced me not to keep coming back but they have motivated me to make changes.

Which is not a bad thing, since it's good to change things up if for no other reason than variety.

We went the first week of November and back again a few weeks ago on an extended family trip and had a blast both times. There were a couple of service type issues on each trip but nothing major that impacted the trip as a whole. I did not run into dirty bathrooms (found them to be quite clean in fact), enjoyed the food and we made the most of FP+. I do wish they had FP+ kiosks in more locations but the system actually works for us.
