Has anybody heard...

Yeah, I guess even an inside postal worker wouldn't know the economically disadvantaged areas in his zip code...... Please.
I don't tell the clerk my address when I buy stamps, do you? But if most of "them" are mailing something or picking up vacation hold mail or something, OK, I can see how he might note the address and make that assumption.

lets take it slooowww she called her WELFARE check her paycheck! quote : why should I get a job when I can get a PAYCHECK FROM HERE....if your friends are like that lady then ....sorry....I guess you didnt GET IT and yes she was telling that to a stranger, another women there to apply for help...the other women asked if she worked at all and that is the response.I am sorry if you dont like it but yes some people do feel that way.

I thought you were are Walmart?

You're being purposely contrarian. No one believes you think this.... Have fun.

Have you ever thought that maybe it's your area and not the Democratic party, poor people or black people, as posters here seem to be suggesting? I've never heard anyone brag about their welfare check being their paycheck and I live in a largely liberal, multicultural and financially variant area.

Well that's okay...I was at a First Nations gathering with my family last month and a lady walked up to my dad and told him to vote for Barack because "he is going to have a representative from every tribe on his cabinet! It will be the largest cabinet ever in history!" Yeah...I guess it would be. Does this lady have any idea how many tribes there are in the US?

FTR, NO it was not promised. He made some promises to First Nations people, but that was not one of them.

1. No reason to get so testy, I just asked a question. Sorry, can't stay with a thread constantly, have to work.

2. Who said I was trying to prove you wrong?

BTW, you sure do spend an awful lot of time "overhearing" others conversations.

But, whatever, you will continue to believe exactly what you want about whomever you want and nothing I nor anyone else says will change your mind. You want to think bad of everyone that receives assistance and never give them the benefit of the doubt? Do so--no skin off my nose.

I think the reason I have never heard anything like any of this and others say they haven't may be because we don't assume these things about anyone, we don't look for the few that do take advantage of the system; we see the ones that the system does help. You tend to find what you look for and if you always look for the bad apples, then that is what you will always find.

LOL! No seriously, I can't imagine any postal worker being petty enough to peek at the return addresses on incoming mail in an effort to determine what income tax bracket a person is in based on their home address. I usually use the automated postal center, so I know they don't have to key in return addresses on typical packages, only the zip code from which the package is being mailed (which ought to be automatic in the first place).

But a lot of people have been really petty about this election, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Its hard to NOT overhear when they are shouting into a cell phone in line or sitting between two "ladies" in the health dept for hours while helping people who really need the help>I do not have ANYTHING against people who REALLY need the help but for people that dont I think they are dirt.as far as just looking for the bad apples well I call it as I see it or hear it really, and if they do not want people to think they are dirt they should keep their bragging to themselves or at least do it when they leave the office!

Regardless of how the BO supportes have played this, to try and say the post office doesn't know the demographics of its service area is disingenous at best.

I don't always go to my local post office. I will also go in other areas if I am out shopping, coming from work, etc. Sorry but the post offices that I do stop at would have no idea the demographics of where I live since I live quite a distance from where I work. Just saying.....

Yeah, that letter carrier has no idea either....
