Has anybody ever booked with/travelled with Expedia?

I am trying to book our honeymoon for October but because it has fallen on half term and also we want 10 nights (not 7 or 14!) we are really struggling. The only company that has come up with 10 nights and the dates we want are Expedia - they have the hotel we want and also flying with Virgin which is not essential but we have flown with them before and enjoy their entertainment. However, I don't know any body that has booked through them or travelled with them. Can anyone help!

I used Expedia for all of the flights for our three trips last year. I have also used them for our New York to Orlando flight this August. They are a huge company and I recommend them without hesitation.

Go for it!

Edit: Make sure you check the cancellation policy, though. It is usually stricter than if booking with a tour operator. Also, your flight tickets are likely to be "e-tickets"

We have used Expedia several times for flights, hotels and car hire. Never had any problems at all. I say go for it!

I have used Expedia a few times with good results. However you might find it cheaper to book the hotel yourself and then book the flights direct with an airline. Sometimes we have found Expedia flight prices cheaper and other times they have been more expensive than booking direct with the airline.

I have used Expedia in the past and would not hesitate to use them again. Generally I have found them cheaper for a Virgin flight than Virgin are!

Ditto. They are a huge company, and I'm sure everything will be fine. I would echo that advice about shopping around for separate flight / hotel deals. Different sights seem to offer different types of discounts on different things. It can take some time, but it could pay off.

The other thing that we have found is that if you are travelling with children, some sights will offer a discount for a child seat on a flight, whereas others just charge the same as an adult seat - eg last year, we booked with Ebookers as their prices saved us about £50 on the child seat. On BA.com, it was same price whatever, and this was reflected by Expedia and Travelocity. This year, it's Airline Network that came out best on Delta flights (child seat over £100 less than adult. Not even Delta.com offered this).

All very confusing, but you have nothing to lose by looking!

Good luck!

Yep, we used them for flights last Xmas and they were very good. I had to call a few times with queries and they were EXCELLENT. Would definately use them again and have no hesitation about recommending them.

I've only used them for a hotel booking so far (when the hotel was 'full' with everyone else), but I'd be happy to use them again if they could offer me the best deal :)

uesd expedia, lastminuite and trovelocity no problems

Would have no hesitation in using them again. Have booked flights and accomodation only before and booked last minute trip to DLP the other week ie booked 8pm night before and flew out at 7am next morning!! Always been excellent. :flower:

We had a slight hiccough when we booked a villa through Expedia - they didn't inform us of a change of address of the villa management company and we had to book into a hotel after a drive from Miami til we could track them down!

Nevertheless they honoured an online pricing mistake (pay for 1 night - get six nights free instead of vice versa) and gave us far more than the cost of our overnight accomodation back.

Have never had any problems with flights booked through them and would use them again :sunny:
