Has anybody else ever arrived only to be told their reservation had been canceled?

Glad everything worked out for you. For our trip this past September, I called the day before leaving to verify our reservation. The guy working at member services said, why would you think you need to call - once you're in the system, your reservation is guaranteed. Well - hello! There's no such thing as being to cautious, as your story illustrates.

My god!!Now we are going to have people calling to check their reservations even when they have a written copy at home. We have people calling to make reservations one day at a time. What next, calling to check on the PS you made. Hello out there isn't anyone cabable of thinking of the whole group anymore. What would all these calls do to the us that just want to call to make our week long reservation all at once like we should!! The me generation rules. god help us.

I'm not sure who you are yelling at Pa@okw, but I hit enter on my above post before yours even posted for me to read. It was an individual decision I made to call ahead of time and re-confirm. I don't have a problem with people calling to add reservations day by day, it's none of my business, just as I think if a person wants to call and re-confirm a reservation prior to arrival, it's no one else's business but that person.

Hi, Geyser! I'm glad your situation worked out in the end, and that you had a great trip! :D

Something strange must be happening with the computers.

After our stay at BCV we went over to AKL concierge for a couple of days. We got a room with bunk beds on the sixth floor overlooking the pool, which we didn't want. We knew the requests aren't guaranteed. Went to the concierge to see if anything could be done. She got us into a room on the 5th floor (5377) and was concerned about our long walk. We said no problem, glad to have it and when we where there in March were in the same area. She looked at the computer and said that's strange, not only weren't our requests in the computer, the fact we are returning guests wasn't there.

Pa@okw95,

I think your missing the point that I had my reservation in hand and they still told me that my room was canceled. If they had sent me a cancellation notice I would have dealt with it then and there but they did not. In short, we never canceled nor were we given any indication that there was a cancellation until we tried to check in.

I have had the problem with both the YC and BC when I made the reservations through MS using points - they both told me that the reservations were cancelled - I got MS on the phone and they talked to the front desk and cleared everything up. These hotels were the only ones I have never had a problem with - been a member since 93 and have stayed at all the DVC resorts and most of the WDW resorts. So this is not a big problem - if other than here (Yc/BC/BCV) it is a problem.

A good note my first time and only time so far to stay at BCV - everything went well - so I had hopped that everything would be fine from now on - looks like I was wrong.

Sorry about your troubles and hopefully this is a one time only problem for you and won't be a problem again.

I would not normally call MS to verify a reservation, but today when I was making reservations for October I did ask the CM to verify my arrival next week. He also verified my March reservation.

This happened to a friend of mine at Disney land using points to stay at the new resort. She had her confirmation and they got it worked out. It seemed to be a set of computers that weren't on speaking terms.
