Has anybody done Victoria & Alberts?

Hi all

Basically as the title says, we have been wondering on and off about eating at this place!
I LOVE to dress up for dinner and I enjoy good food! Even more so when its served in small portions of different things to try

So
Is it worth the price? Did you enjoy the atmosphere, and would you do it again

I'd also like to know this as well. I'm going to try and get the Chef's table for my DH birthday but seriously not sue of my chanes

We've been to Victoria and Albert's a couple of times and would do it again in a heartbeat.
It certainly isn't cheap, but you come away feeling that you have had value for money. It's up there with the best restaurant experiences I've ever had.
If you do the wine pairings, which I would recommend, you are sure to leave slightly squiffy.

We've done V&As 3 times in 4 years - latest on 4 March this year.

Dinner with wine pairing and the Kobe beef option ($US110) was $536 using TiW (but that goes away this Summer - V&As will no longer accept TiW so you'll pay full price + the tip) - so it's NOT inexpensive.

But it was exquisite - and we will undoubtedly do again - but no more than once a year.

A couple of girl friends and I did do V&A a couple of years ago and worth every single penny. You can check out some of my food porn in my signature TR below, but I did mostly a Vegetarian menu. Seriously the best restaurant experience I've ever had anywhere.

My partner and I have done V&As seven times now including once in the Queen Victoria Room so I think it's obvious what our opinion of the place is!

The atmosphere is amazing, with the live harpist playing in the corner, the service is excellent and the food is exquisite. Chef Scott does an superb job every single time.

Nowadays we budget to go every trip.

Is it true that you can take a break between courses? As my only problem is a get full really quickly on tiny amounts lol and could do with a small walk around

I'm not sure what you mean by "break" but I recall there being a good amount of time in between each course. I get full also on small amounts but somehow by the time the next dish came, I was ready to go. LOL. Im sure if you ask your Victoria or Albert they would allow you to take as much time as you need. I remember our dinner reservation was 5pm, but didn't leave until after 8pm.

I read some reviews saying that they encourage you to get up and take a stroll around the resort after a couple of courses, so that you can fit in the next lot of food haha!

So that's what I mean by a break as that would suit me just fine
