I have seen the stores that sell Disney gift baskets and they are great items, especially if you don't have the time/energy/whatever to make your own. Here is what I have done so far for my two toddler girls (4 and 2):
The
Disney Store has Valentine's Day items for 75% off, pajamas for as little as $5.99 (at least at our local store). I bought a Mickey and Minnie cookie kit (mix, cutters, black frosting, etc) for $3.00. Some Pooh and Mickey candy marked down from $2 to .50.
Also, our local Kmart is selling last year's character sunglasses at 50% off. I bought DD a pair of 2002 Cinderella glasses with roses for the part that goes over the ears for $1.20!
I bought a mini remote control Mickey car and a Donald car for $5 each at
Walmart (rechargeable!).
Walmart also has Princess charm bracelets that double as key chains for $2.88 each.
I also bought some glow in the dark jewelry at the Dollar Store for dark rides and night time. (As well as velcro hand holders).
I plan on decorating a plastic sand bucket with Disney stickers and filling them with the above items, as well as Disney Happy Meal toys we already have but haven't played with in ages! Bring them out upon check-in and they'll be thrilled (at least that's the plan)!
I know it takes some work, but I feel better about giving the kids a gift basket from my heart than a pre-made gift a stranger made - but that's just me.
We'll buy some miscellaneous stuff at the parks too, like the official autograph and pen, maybe some mouse ears, etc. I'm looking forward to getting their silhouettes made on Main Street!
Just some ideas.
