Has any "Survivor" contestant ever written a book??

I love "Survivor" and I've often wondered how different the actual experience is VS what we see on tv. We don't see all of the cameras, etc. that they do. I remember reading that even though we only see a few minutes of each Tribal Counsel that they actually last a long time before they vote, and then it takes a long time for Jeff to come back and read the votes. I'd LOVE to read one of the contestants' memoirs of their experience on the show. I also wonder if they've had to sign something which states that they're not allowed to give away "secrets" to the show. Does anyone know about this?? :confused3

P.S. I have a couple of Seaons on DVD but none of them show any "behind the scenes" stuff except a bit on how they construct and test out the challenges that they build onsite.

This isn't really what you're looking for, but it was a book written after season one, that provided a lot of behind the scenes information. I read it years ago, and loved it.

I did more research, and at least when it first started, Richard Hatch wanted to write a book, but CBS wouldn't let him, because of his contract with CBS. They vetoed the book idea, because they only wanted their side of the story to be told. That is when the above book was written by Mark Burnett.

I don't know if they still feel the same. But, again, the above book is a good read.

The one winner, Rupert I think...the guy who wore tie-dye...he wrote a book. In fact, he was at our local Wal-Mart on its opening day signing his books!

Rupert's book is about his life, not Survivor. They aren't allowed to write books about their experience, or even reveal certain details to the media.

I used to work with Stacey from season one. She was the attorney that got voted out early on and then sued Mark Burnett because he influenced the other survivors to vote for her. Stacey is rich now and I'm sure the contracts contestants sign today are a whole lot thicker than they were for season one. She told me TV did not do justice to the grossness of naked guy Richard Hatch though.
