Has any Annual Passholders gotten their magic bands yet?

so i get a ap magic band with the gold card but no name or expiration date ?

AP Gold Discount Card has Full Name, Expiration Date and if you get Free Parking printed on the back.

I've skimmed through the 16+ pages of this thread...and this may have been addressed or answered somewhere in there, but I didn't notice so here goes...

I purchased APs for our upcoming trips. I received vouchers and called Disney IT to help link my vouchers to MDE so I can do my FP+ at 60 days if I want. This happened a few weeks ago.

I have 3 resort reservations and MDE has magic bands listed for all reservations and all were customized. My magic bands for last year are still on MDE as well.

With all these magic bands I wasn't concerned about AP magic band until I found out it comes with a special AP "thingy". But when I go to MDE, AP magic bands are no where listed to be customized.

I've spoken to various CMS at Disney on 2 or 3 different occasions trying to find out if I have to wait until I activate my APs at the park before I get my magic bands or can I customize and get them before my trip. I told them I have my vouchers and they are linked to MDE. Every CM I spoke with told me I should get my AP magic bands before my trip and that I can customize them. They said just give it some time and it will show up on MDE to customize.

I'm not worried about getting magic bands - I'll have enough. I would, however, like the AP charm that comes with the AP bands. It's just that the CMs seemed a little confused when I spoke to them and I'm not sure if they fully understood what I was asking.

So...does anyone know...IF YOU HAVE AN AP VOUCHER THAT IS NOT YET ACTIVATED BUT IS Linked TO MDE FOR AN UPCOMING TRIP WILL YOU BE ABLE TO CUSTOMIZE AND GET YOUR AP MAGICBAND BEFORE YOU ACTIVATE YOUR AP OR DO YOU HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL YOU GET TO THE PARK AND ACTIVATE YOUR AP???? Oh, and if you have to wait until you activate your AP do they give you magic bands right then and there and are they just the grey ones?

I was in the same situation at the end of march when I ordered my ap for the first time.

Ended up finding you don't get to customize the ap band until after your first trip when you activate them.

Kind of silly since you can get them at your resort and off site guests can buy them. So basically APs are the only ones who don't get bands for their trip.

And if you were an off site ap you wouldn't have a magic band at all until your next trip.

When I spoke to the CM, she suggested I buy MBs in the park for our first trip, since we are offsite. I said "I just paid a whole lot of money for 3 premium APs, and now Disney wants me to pay MORE for a MB??"

Ridiculous. They are sending out multiple MBs to people, so it can't be about cost. I'm certain it's about the discount card, so let us customize the bands, and give us the slider and card when we activate. I'm assuming we will get the same cards as last year so we can get our free parking and discounts, I'm going to be really annoyed if that's an issue too.

Thanks for the info...I had a sneaking suspicion that I would have to wait...though it does seem silly since after all, they have my money for the APs and what can I do with the magic bands early any way? They don't do me any good until I go to a park.

Oh well, as I said I have plenty of Magic Bands because I have resort reservations and I'm treating myself to a variety of colors. I guess what was a bit frustrating was that each time I spoke with a CM they didn't seem to understand what I was asking for and they insisted I will be able to customize my magic band before my trip even though I told them I only have the vouchers and flat out asked them if I have to wait until I activate APs.

The CM I spoke with today said to call in a week if my AP magic band doesn't show up on MDE. I may just call back a few more times to see if 1) I get someone who can give me the correct answer or 2) they let me customize my AP magic bands before I activate my AP.

I just want my AP thingy, however I can see how this can be frustrating to an AP holder who doesn't stay onsite and has to wait until their 2nd trip to customize magic bands...AND (though I'm sure there are not many people in this category) what if you're planning a trip of more then 10 days at Disney and are not a water park fan, but want to visit the main parks more that 10 days and decide an AP for that one long trip is the best value - you don't get a magice band at all?

Well it's frustrating that you pay the money now. You should get the band now.

And I'm thinking if you book your trip may 10-18 this year and may 1-10 next year, you have your band sitting around for a year. Also you have a 2014 slider that is for a trip in 2015.

What I really don't get is that Florida residents get a payment plan for a $3-400 pass and out of staters pay $675 and pay in full.

I ordered my AP MB 2nd week of March and we went March 17-19, it didn't arrive before we went. Hotel gave me MBs and my AP was automatically linked. We went again last weekend so I has the new MB, DD28 had forgotten hers at home so hotel gave a generic grey one. Her AP was automatically linked. I'm going in 3 weeks with DD30, DGD5 and DGS8. They have tickets but not APs so this is the first time they get to customize and I got to order a new one. This will be my 4th. I'm wondering I just renewed my AP (Florida resident and I gotta say I love the monthly payment plan, one of the reasons I'm renewing). I just wonder if my "new" will be linked to the MB. I have a voucher I have to convert. My discount card that came with AP MB has an expiration date 4/12/14. When I go on MDE it shows my new expiration date as 4/12/15. Never had a problem showing my AP and license for discount.

We just activated our AP's on 3/30. Once we did that we were able to order our MB's. What's frustrating to me is not being able to make FP+'s with the vouchers. What a pain in the rear!

From everything I understand you can make FP+ selections with vouchers. Now I'm not sure how many days out you can do this if you don't have an onsite reservation. But when I got my vouchers I called Disney IT (407-939-7765) and they were able to link my vouchers to MDE so I can make FP+ selections 60 days prior to my reservation - so I know you can link vouchers to MDE.

And you want to know a funny thing? I was "clicking" around MDE looking to see if I can find my AP magic bands listed and when I went to FP+ section, if I wanted, I was able to make FP+ selections for that day. So I know my AP voucher link was working because I could make FP+ selections. Now talk about messing up the system...I could sit on my computer right now and make FP+ selections for the next 7 days even though I won't be in Disney because I have my AP vouchers linked.

Has anyone tried this with regular tickets? If you have tickets linked now for a future trip, can you make FP+ selections for this week? If so, there are people out there who can, just for the "fun of it". use up FP+ places with no intention of using them.

A month ago I received my AP magic Bands but with black discount cards instead of gold and with the wrong expiration date. I just received the gold ones in the mail today with a letter apologizing for the mix-up.The expiration date is correct now too! I only called once to report the mixup and was told to use my old tickets, so this was a happy surprise in the mail today! I am so glad they corrected the mistake Hope others in this same predicament are receiving corrected discount cards too!

DH and I have AP's and we just bought an AP for DD3. I was able to link her will call number with no problem and was able to schedule FP's. It did not, however, allow me to customize a magic band for her. We have one from our trip in early February, so I'm hoping they can just link it to that one. DH and I customized our AP bands and received them in less than a week.

I renewed my AP and it's letting me customize a new one. I leave next Saturday 5/10 so hopefully it'll be here before that. I needed to customize because of the discount card. Hopefully all my other MBs will work. I'll now have 5, grey 1st trip, pink second trip (forgot my MB so it's what they had at the desk) pink I customized for my ap that expired 2 weeks ago, orange for my trip next week and now red for renewed AP. Too bad you can't get discount on room if you don't need new MBs.

The Monthly Payment Plan is most likely limited to FL Residents so they only have to deal with collection laws in one state.

We got Black Discount Cards in error also. We also got a Gold Discount Card that belongs to someone else.

Our current passes expire 6/1, so it's not really worth it to call about the error with the discount card. They will hopefully have this straightened out by the time we renew.

We received new AP Discount Cards (Gold w/correct expiration date) by mail a couple of days ago. I never called them about the error.
