Has a commercial ever backfired and made you NOT want to buy a product??

I don't like the Oral B brush up commerical.

I've never eaten at Quiznos and never will thanks to their gross commercials. :crazy2: :crazy2: :crazy2: :crazy2: :crazy2:

Yes Yes and Yes!

Lexus! I wouldn't want to drive a Lexus, because I don't want anyone to think I'm as arrogant as the people in their commercials. Gag me with a spatula!

My DH refuses to buy Nike products, because (1) the obnoxious commercials and (2) the already overpaid athletes they overpay to promote their products and (3) the oversaturation of Nike advertising.

Give me some time. I'm sure I'll think of some more. (Oh, and I totally agree about the Herbal Essence commercials.)

Add me to the list of Peto Bismal commercial haters. It is just GROSS!

I also can't stand the new cell phone/ cellular service ads - DH & I aren't even sure what they trying to promote. It is a group of senior citizens partying - at the end there is a grandma type dancing somewhat suggestively between "two grandpas".

Oh golly, those Quizno commercials where annoying. When those came out I just had my baby and was sleep deprived/stressed out and I was about to kill those things. Finally insisted that the remote be next to me at all times so I can change the channel when they came on.

I swear by all that is holy, I will NEVER buy a Herbal Essence product based SOLELY on their commercials!!! I cannot stand those commercials!! (insert puking smiley!!)

I say that everytime I see one. I hate them.

Any of the presecription medicine commercials. By the time they finish lising all the potential nasty side-effects it seems it might be better to KEEP the problem the medicine is supposed to help.

And,yes, I understand they have to tell us the side effects. It just seems counter-productive to me.

Can you hear me now? Good

Ditto on the herbal essence. The one I hate is for KY Heat. Or any feminine products. It was bad enough when we had to see the wings, but now that they show us the anatomy of the gel core they have gone too far. On the other hand, I do get a chuckle out of the "I hope you brought enough for the whole class" to which the girl replies "enough for the girls" Just hoping DS does not ask what the girl has brought! Don't feel like having that conversation based on a commercial!

I have never been able to toilet train a child using them. And not one of my children or the kids I take care have have ever gone running to the bathroom and pulled their pullups down. They are great for times when you dont want a accident. Like driving in the car etc.
But that one really annoys me!

There's a TV commercial for a local restaurant here where the owner is talking while holding his little daughter who looks to be about four or five. At the end, the little girl says something like, "Come visit my daddy for the best food in town!" Now the girl's a real cutie pie, but while she's talking she drools and it lands on her father's arm. Blech.:crazy2: It makes me totally NOT want to eat at that place! Now I know the girl couldn't help it, but I'm just wondering if they shouldn't have noticed it in editing!

Gosh that Toyota jingle makes me want to run from my house screaming, but then I'm afraid I'll run into that odd guy from the Six Flags commercials.

Same with those Brush-ups commercials (ugh).

For me, it's definitely the Quiznos commercials! Oh man! those singing rats gave me the "willies"!

Nope - I can't imagine not buying a product just because of the commercial. If I like the product, I'll buy it.

"Does it have a Hemi?"

I don't know, I don't care, and I will never find out because those commercials are so annoying.

I also hate the Pepto Bismol commercials, but will more than likely still buy the product. What can I say? ...it works and I like the taste!

Nope. If I like a product, I'm going to use it. In fact, I just used the new bottle of Herbal Essences shampoo this morning, I ate Quiznos last week. But I do hate the commercials.

I listen to my walkman at work. It has a TV band so I listen to soap operas. So I heard the "condition my condition was in" commercial.....and started laughing.

And I love the M&M commercial. The song is really pretty. I heard it first, I finally had the chance to see it the other day. Made me want to eat some M&M's right then.

The "local" commercials are the ones that make me want to set my t.v. on fire. They don't seem to have the ability to make a commercial without SCREAMING! I try to keep a mental note of the loudest and most annoying and vow to never do business with them. That'l teach 'em!

Sonic! Those two guys in the car really get on my nerves!

Anything with trampy looking women in it, tends to make me not want to buy the product.

Definitely the Quiznos ones with the little rat things that look like they took a bath in a deep fryer.

The Pepto Bismol one cracks us up!!! Especially the one guy on the end fanning his backside!! ROFL!!! :rotfl:

There's one series of commercials here in Richmond on the radio for a local wild bird store. It features a mother and her 2 year old, but the 2 yr old sounds like an adult who's drunk and inhaled too much helium from balloons. Stupid and annoying and definitely makes me NOT want to shop there.
