Sometimes I wonder if people do some of those things --- locked the keys/kid/dog in the car --- hoping to get their call used in a commercial. Especially the one where a guy said his car was under a garage so the signal might not make it. It almost sounded like he was testing the system himself.

I was going to post the Lamisil fugus commercial also. I can't even watch it.

The one where there's a surprise party and a girl jumps up and then there's commentary about her "protection" having an anti-odor barrier (or something like that) for those times when you have to sit for awhile and then get up. I don't know which specific femine hygiene product it's for but it's a disgusting commercial.

I can't stand the Brush-up commercial! Also the one where the women are "checking" their underarms to see if they smell.
The Jaguar commercials drive me nuts....JAG-YOU-R, give me a break!

I personally think the PEpto Bismol commercial is hysterical!!! You definitely remember that one. The first time I saw it I laughed out loud and DH (from another room) had to come in and find out what I was laughing at so loud!!!

This is a great thread! I absolutely hate with a passion the commercials for Swiffer- the ones where the music is a parody of the Devo song "Whip It"- "You must Swiffer". What woman on the face of the earth dances around her house "swiffering" with that moronic look on her face?!?! That commercial is insulting to womankind- nobody enjoys cleaning anything that much!!

The WORST commercial ever is for a local law firm. There's a boy about 10 or so holding a trumpet, and sitting next to his grandpa. The little boy asks "Wow, grandpa, how did you get to be so good?" (at playing the trumpet) The grandpa responds

"Well, Billy (or Tommy or Bobby, one of those kid-type names.), There are three things you need to remember. First, practice makes perfect. Second, always try your best, and third, if you're ever in an accident, call Name Of Law Firm."


What in world does a law firm have to do with playing the trumpet? WHY does little Jimmy-Joe-Bob need to know about lawyers at his little age? WHY???

Same law firm has another commercial that shows an opposing law firm getting an email that Law Firm is their opposition, and the Opposing lawyer drops his coffee cup, and it shows it falling. Now, if the coffee had splashed out, or the cup had broken or something, it might have been kind of dramatic, right? Nope, the empty cup just bounces on the floor!

There is a local car dealship that has a commercial that starts with explaining the top 3 things customers look for when choosing a car dealership (#1 being customer service/satisfaction)...they then go on to show reasons that they provide the other two things...but totally make no mention of customer service/satisfaction...(I have seen this commerical MANY times and keep looking to see if they changed it)

Sorry, but if they can make such a huge error on a very expensive ad campaign...I think they are not worthy of my $$$$$.

I HATE those commercials for Orbit gum - dirty mouth?

The local commercials. I realize they need to advertise, but most seem like they have a 4 year old filming them with a really old camcorder. Not to mention none of them know how to "act" for them! Aalso, Why do they insist on using their kids in the commercials?? We have one where these 5-12 year old girls play dress up & pretend to be a nurse, a movie star, & 2 other "occupations" buying the stuff their father(s) are selling. Like they know anything about wood working/kitchen sets.

That commercial where there are some girls sitting in a restaurant & the end up flipping the tables over in a panic to reach their cameras because Steven Tyler walks by. I love him, but I hate this commercial.

OOhh & those commercials for the sneakers where with every step the guy takes the whole picture zooms in & out & bounces. That commercial makes me seasick!

I don't kno what product it was, but it was for an itching cream. This guy is itching his arm and his other arm is scratching at 2000 miles per hour, and he sounds like a chainsaw! I think your arm would fall of by then!!

Zantrex 3.......... YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more like.. NO!!! That drives me nuts!

I can tell you that I am gettin very tired of diet pill commercials!!!

We were watching t.v. last night and a commercial came on advertising a puff air freshener. As soon as I saw it I thought of this thread.

Because of the commercial I will never buy it. I think it was for the Glade Puff (or Press & Fresh). They have an older couple sitting on their couch in the living room and they are pressing the freshener so it puffs out the scent, then the two of them are sniffing at it like its some kind of drug. They can't get enough of it and by the end of the commercial they are both woozy (sp?) and look like they are on drugs!!!!

Oh, I HATE the Hardee's commercials for Angus Beef Burgers. They usually have someone chomping away on a big greasy burger and they have the sound turned way up so you can hear them eating-it is so gross!! The commercials always have a "negative" feel to them, which really bothers me. They must think they are funny, but they are truly annoying and I will not buy a burger from Hardee's.

I do like their biscuits, but they don't advertise them...

Ok, around here we are subjected to the horrific Ditech.com commercials. Nothing would make me happier than to NEVER see that man again...and I feel a little guilty about that, because I know he is just trying to make a living. He is just so annoying.

I also hate that Herbal Essences commercials. Some of them are so bad I just have to change the channel. They are embarrassing!

I really hate all car ads. I'll buy one when I'm ready...don't pressure me!

Finally, I hate the new Taco Bell commercials for their new value menu. The one guy who says something about what he did this weekend and the other guy says, "You dog!" AND the "motivational speaker". Who comes up with this stuff?

That's all I can think of right now, although I am sure I will be reminded of more throughout today!

I've got some that keep me away from a TV show, not a product.

I watch the repeats of West Wing on Bravo. And I will NEVER, NEVER, NEVER watch some of the TV shows they advertise--the one with the couples who tell things that annoy them about each other....I don't want to remember the dumb show.
