Hard Rock Hotel Refund ?

Went online to cancel a hard rock ressie on Aug 3rd. Got my confirmation email, however no refund to my credit card yet. I was transferred from the 1-800 number to the Loews hotel accounting dept. at their special services center. I've emailed and left two messages so far with no response. Is this typical on a Hard Rock refund or do I need to keep calling until I get a live person?
 
I would say call your credit card company and dispute the charge. Let them know about the refund, provide them with the confirmation number, etc.
 
What did accounting tell you? Generally, if you are dealing directly with Loews, it should be done within a few days of cancellation. I'd keep calling.

I take it you aren't getting a live person only a machine when you call accounting? I think I would call the hotel directly and speak with someone that can help you.

That's my problem. I can't get a live person on the phone and they won't call or email back. I'm gonna try a few more times and then try to contact the hotel direct.

I've been connected to accounting before. They are there somewhere! Just keep trying.
 
When I canceled mine it took 4 weeks to credit my account, after a few calls to the hotel(RPR).
 
I've had to cancel a few reservations because of dates not working out and did everything on-line and have always received a refund within a week. This was for RPR, but I wouldn't think that would make a difference. I hope everything works out for you and you receive your refund soon.

That has been my experience as well. When it takes any longer than that, something has not gone properly and they should be informed.
 
I'm still having zero luck getting any response from Loews accounting dept. not sure who to call next, but I'm hoping this isn't an indication of Loews overall customer service.

There probably isn't anyone working in accounting on the weekend. Email or call the hotel directly and state your issue and that nobody is returning your emails. You can also email here: HardRockCustomerService@loewshotels.com

Try again until you get a live person. Same thing happened to me and I ended up waiting well over a month. When I finally called again, I was put on hold for 15 minutes, and then told to "give it a little longer". I got the distinct impression from the tone and the conversation that it had never been put through in the first place. Lo and Behold it was there 3 days later.
 
Call the hotel directly and explain the situation.
 
i had to cancel one of my ressies for this year and the TM told me it will be credited back to my cc.


i forgot about that credit until i read this thread.

i'm gonna check on that tomorrow.

past experiences of mine, have not been like what you are going through.

I should also add that I switch my reservations around quite a bit as things change and in the 4 times I've gotten a refund from Universal hotels this has only happened once. I've read about it on other threads here as well, so I think it's rare but doesn't get put through sometimes for whatever reason.
It usually takes under a week.
 
Well I finally spoke with someone at the Hotel early Monday morning and they were going to look into why the refund handn't shown up yet. I got a call back yesterday morning from the hotel who informed me the refund had been magically processed on Monday afternoon. He wouldn't say if their inquiry spured the refund processing or not, however he was extremely friendly and helpful.

Lesson to learn is if you don't see your refund within a week call the hotels direct if you want some action. Makes me look forward to my Hard Rock stay in three weeks even more.
 
i poster earlier in this thread about my soon to be refund for a ressie at RPH.

I later checked my cc account and saw that it only took 2 days for it to be posted on my statement.


maybe what you encountered was a human oops........

Glad it finally got straightened out. Like mac said, it generally gets refunded within a couple of days, so when it goes beyond the week it sure is worth making a call (or two or three).
