I want to maximise my time at Universal and not waste any money on extra day tickets. What time are you able to check-in at the hotel and what is the latest check-out time ? Does FOTL start as soon as you check-in and finish when you check-out ?

Thanks in advance.

You can check in anytime you like, but you can never leave....

Seriously though, you can arrive as early as 7 or 8AM to retrieve your express passes and leave your luggage with the front desk, assuming your room will not be ready that early. Express passes are good through the end of the day (park closing) that you check out.

Check out is generally 11AM, but Lowes First members can request late check outs of up to three hours, depending on availability.

ditto on what Flyin2MCO said....

the last 2 times i stayed at hrh, i checked in before 7:30 am.

Thats great info thanks, we will be checking in nice and early.

Are they normally ok with late check-out? we havn`t got our Loews card just a number, but it got us a free upgrade to pool view.

I know this is a daft question but pool towels are provided arn`t they?

Are there facilities to get changed at the pool, as we will most probably want to use it on the second day but won`t have a room!

Breakfast is included on our room rate it seems we get 2 vouchers on check-in - we need to pay for DD! Do we pay at reception on check-in or pay at breakfast, also as we have the vouchers please advise me about tipping (don`t want to do the wrong thing).

Thanks everyone

I can advise on the late check out question...You need to call at 7AM on your last day to request a check out, which is provided on a first-come, first-served basis as far as I can tell. For context, I'm Lowe's Platinum and we were given a two hour late check out during our last trip. I called at 705AM in the hope of getting the full three hour late check out, but they were only able to provide two hours (which really was fine by me).

As Platinum, I was able to guarantee late check out upon check-in. I didn't have to wait until check out day. Did they know you were plat and did you pay a qualifying rate? I did the Express Yourself check-in, and the guest relations manager called me to see if there was anything she could help me with before arriving. I mentioned that we'd like a late check out, and she said as Platinum, we were guaranteed one and she'd note it and we were all set. We did not need to call.

Thanks we can only ask, as we are not Platinum might get 5 minutes (only joking) if they will its a bonus if not well never mind.

Hope someone can help with my other questions.

Thanks again

Jodie,

We did APH so it wasn't considered a qualifying rate. I mentioned my platinum status when calling for the late check out, but it didn't help. On a related note, I called to request an upgrade for our Oct trip, but once again was given the heisman due to booking under APH....I know these are the rules, but it never hurts to ask.

gee, whenever i was gold prior/now platinum, i always requested late check out when i booked. it was on my ressie when i arrived and checked in.

i do the 2 pm late check out.
my flight usually leaves at 8 pm so i keep the room as long as possible.

katiesdad, if you don't have your loews card before you go, call them and they will give you your account membership number over the phone.
i had to do that my first year. i applied late april and left on the trip may 7. you do not have to have the card but know the number to give the front desk in case it wasn't logged in.

yes, there is a pool room area for changing clothes,, showers, lockers, etc, towels for hrh,. it is the corner room near the pool. you can't miss it.
i have used it once i check out of my room at 2. i go back to the park and return around 5ish to change in that pool/shower area.
i store my luggage at the hotel and pick it up when my ride comes.

for the breakfast, you would give the waitress the vouchers for the adults and pay for the child.

Thanks macraven,

I`ve got my Loews number just not the card yet, they have my number on my reservation so hope I get the `bottle of wine ` in the room.

Thanks for the info about the pool/changing area, thats what I was a bit kconcerned about - assumed there would be somewhere!! but its nice to know in advance. Hoping to spend the 2nd day at IOA, come back for a swim before we go for something to eat and head back to Cypress Pointe.

Will we have to pay for daughter in restaurant with a CC or is cash ok, wasn`t sure if it gets added to our hotel bill. Cash there and then would be easier, also tip.. please help... is it approx 15 - 20% of what would be the total bill assuming we didn`t have the free breakfast vouchers? not used to having vouchers so want to get it right so we don`t upset anyone.

Really looking forward to our holiday, just couting the days.

katie's dad, you can use cash. it's always acceptable.

the standard is to tip 15-20% depending on attentive service on the total bill before tax. you have the vouchers and you will have a child charge for the breakfast. they will remove the cost for the two vouchers and only the one kid meal will be the charge.

remember this. when you check in at the hotel, tell the clerk you want the loews welcome gift delivered to your room at _________. (tell them the day and time you want the gift put in your room)

if it is not there, and that does happen, call Star Service on your room phone..
tell them you have not received your welcome gift and would like it sent up.
in turn, they will take care of that. ask them when it will be brought up.
and, if it does not arrive at that time, call again.

i have found that things like this slip up at times and you have to call to remind them to bring the gift to your room.

Great info thanks, have you tried the wine?? is it ok? we like white wine but not sure if it would be cold enough so thinking of going for the red!

one of the welcome loews gifts is the cookies and milk.

i request it differently and always get it as cookies and coke.
they just write it in as coke not milk.
this is what i request on each of my stays.

i did receive a nice bottle of white wine as a special gift before at the hrh.
i took it home and we drank it 2 years later.
can't remember much about it now though, sorry

Hi - does that mean that even if you aren't Lowes Members etc that you could ring down at 7am and if you are lucky, ANYONE might get a 3 hour late check-out??

even the blue and gold loews members sometimes get turned down for the late check out when the hotel is fully booked the day you want late check out.

you can try for a late check out. it depends on that days availability for rooms for incoming guests and the person at the front desk making a decision.

i do not know if you will be successful or not.
all you can do is try.
