We’re going to dinner at a friend’s house. Not exactly a romantic evening but honestly none of us realized it was going to be Valentine’s Day when we made the plans.

:lovestruc I’ve got a card ready for DH and it’s possible he will panic-buy some flowers or candy later today. He’s been frantic at work and I’m pretty sure it’s snuck up on him. No biggie but we do try to do a little something for each other. It’s nice this year because it’s a long weekend (a civic holiday called Family Day) so we’ve got Monday to plan an outing if we feel like it.

Hopefully this makes you feel a little bit better.....I get to go to work, where I'm estimating I'll get to deal with 15-20 tweens sobbing in the bathrooms because they didn't get valentines from their crush, and then after school we have a basketball tournament all evening, where I get to coach (although with my hubby, so I guess sitting on a bench together could be romantic)
Livin' the dream :P

(Happy Family Day!! We're in Edmonton so are looking forward to the long weekend too!)

My wife and I (along with our 2-year old son) are going to an early dinner at Applebee's after work. Applebee's seems like a safe choice since we'll have our son with us, and going early should avoid some of the crowds. I got my wife some flowers and chocolate last night, and went ahead and gave it to her. I figured she can enjoy the chocolate and flowers today when I'm at work. We got our son a magnetic letter set for the refrigerator, and a few small chocolates (we don't want him bouncing off the walls, lol.)

 Yes, that does sound romantic! If I remember adolescence, there would be at least half that many in there sobbing about something else even if it wasn’t Valentine’s Day though, right? You’re doing God’s work there and you get full props from me! Have a great weekend! :wave2:

We have such a romantic day planned....

Hubby is working tonight (he works at a restaurant so he'll be taking care of everyone else's Valentine's dates LOL)

I am performing in a cabaret, so I'll be entertaining everyone else's dates

The kids will have the best night - movies, popcorn and a blanket fort in the living room with their favorite babysitter :)

Me and hubby heading to Disney in a few hours for the long weekend (my birthday weekend too).
Dinner at The Boathouse tonight and just gonna stroll through Disney Springs a perfect Valentine's Day.

** Please keep the family of Parkland students in your thoughts and prayers today, its a hard day here in South Florida.

I had rented a hotel room so I could spend some alone time with my husband.

We stayed the night but I am now coming down with a cold so I was miserable all night coughing and sneezing and hurting from head to toe.

We’ll take a rain check and try again Another time.

Do you have roommates?

It's a regular work day, but he's coming home early and we'll be making homemade pizza at home, no gifts, only cards since we're going to Toronto next week. :rolleyes2

Nothing here. My wife was gone all week on a business trip, so tonight will likely be a quiet dinner at home and early bedtime. I picked up some flower for her during the week so they were there when she got home, but otherwise, nothing special.

Going to lunch with my husband after I get my haircut, since the salon is around the corner from his office. Tonight we will get our normal pizza, watch the LSU gymnastics meet, make brownie sundaes.

Gave my daughter her valentine this morning and allowed her to eat chocolate for breakfast. Oops.

Oh and my husband grabbed some flowers for me last night, which was very sweet!

I made reservations at a new restaurant dh and I have been wanting to try. We normally don't go out on V-Day but since I'll be driving my ds and his girlfriend around to a couple different places tonight it was easier than planning to make dinner at home.
We don't get eachother gifts, I bought myself an orchid at Aldi's yesterday for $11- told dh he better not waste $75 on flowers for me

We hate fighting crowds at restaurants so we went out last night. Tonight we'll spend a quiet night in front of the fire.

I was going to make jumbo lump crab cakes, baked potatoes and asparagus for dinner tonight and tomorrow night we were going to go to Ruth Chris Steakhouse for dinner. BUT....DBF was diagnosed with the flu yesterday so now it's soup tonight and not sure about tomorrow.

I ended up making a nice dinner last night and we are now going up to my sister in laws house to help with the kids. Flu going around and with 3 kids (3,2,2) and she pregnant with #4. The twins birthday party is (maybe??) tomorrow. Fun had by no one for valentines day.

I assumed we weren't doing anything at all but then my husband asked about dinner before he left for work. He won't be home until 7ish. So I guess we are going to a local bar up the street. They have excellent food, not bar food but real food. We actually went there three years ago for valentines day and the steak special was excellent, probably the best steak I've ever had.

We only have three kids at home, two are working and I told the youngest I'd just get him a pizza.

I should probably go get my husband a card or something. Lol. We'll be celebrating our 26th anniversary next month, we do stuff together but tend to not really go overboard on traditionally holidays.
