Happy or sad that 2009 is soon over?

How do you feel about 2009, now that the year is coming to an end?

I must admit I couldn´t be happier. This year has been one of the toughest, if not the toughest I have ever experienced. I will not miss it one bit.
I don´t think I have ever felt this way before. Even in 2002, which was a very difficult year (my mom passed away suddenly at the age of 50) I still felt there was so much good (we had our 3rd baby that year). But this year? Our finances went "whacko", DH´s business suffered a big blow, our relationship suffered because of all this, we had lots of illness in our immediate and extended family and the list just goes on.
I´m starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel and can´t wait for a new start in 2010.

How about you?

The end of this year can't come soon enough. :sad2: And the reason I say that is because so many terrible things have happend this year.

The latest being my cousin's 9 year old son was hit and killed by a car the day after Christmas. We're attending his funeral on New Year's Day.

Altjough there were a few decent moments in 2009, the horrible ones far outweighed any positives. I am glad to see this year go. I only hope that 2010 is better!

GOODBYE 2009! This has been a sad year for a family member and we are all THRILLED to be rid of 2009. :headache:

So far 2010 is looking mighty good. ::yes::
DH has a really FAB job but was just offered (last Wed) an even better job!!!!!! :woohoo:
DS#1 (who we missed terribly when DH's company relocated us to CA from MA), was able to relocate HERE to CA with his job!!!!! :woohoo:
DS#2 has already heard from one law school for entrance in Sept 2010!!!!! :woohoo:

2010

See ya 2009 bring on 2010! My dad passed away suddenly in October and my DH is in the mortgage business (need I say more). We took a blow financially. I found out I have a health issue with my eye and my DD also had some health issues. Good ridance! 2010 can only get better!

excited to kiss this year goodbye. Although we have had some good times the bad seems to have over shadowed the good by far this year.

I am determined to have a better 2010!

I think this is going to be a bittersweet ending for me.

For one this year brought a lot of heartache and I'll be glad to be rid of it. On the other hand this year ending means that my baby is no longer a baby. She's turned into a toddler so fast and I'm just not ready for it to be over.

But I am looking forward to the good things to come in 2010.

Bring on the New Year! I'm ready for a new beginning!!!:cheer2:

I for one cannot wait for this year to be over. I just attended my MIL's funeral this morning, who lived with us for the past 9+ months while she was undergoing Chemo/Radiation and died on Christmas Day :sad2:

Strangely enough, it's been personally one of the worst years ever but financially it's been one of the best. Go figure.

Worst year of dh's and my lives. I'm glad it's almost over. So far 2010 looks good, dh has an unofficial job offer, hoping that will become official very soon. The job has more benefits than I hoped and prayed for including a car! We are so worried our hopes are too high and it'll come crashing down like everything did last year.

I will personally be very glad to see this year go. Next year - well, we'll see. Our WDW trip of course is exciting, and my daughter's graduating from high school, but I have to do all that without my husband. We lost him to kidney cancer in August. So, next year will be bittersweet - to say the least.

We have been very lucky to have a good year, 2008 was a very strange year for us, we started off 2008 with my husband asking me for a divorce and ended 2008 with a brand new baby, after 15 years of trying! 2009 was very mellow and unexciting, with the exception of losing my 98 year old grandmother in a car accident. I am looking forward to 2010, hopefully it will bring us our second baby!

Let's ring in the New Year!! I'll keep the 2009 behind me and no looking back. I'm looking forward to a better year ~ 2010!!

I am SO ready for 2009 to be over. All my drama has been work related. It stinks. I'm VERY grateful that DFi and I still have a job, but we really could have done without all this stress.

We both work at the same place - a call center, he's a supervisor and I'm the quality assurance specialist.

In March (the month I was due for my raise) the entire company received a letter that we were having a pay freeze. Okay. Not a big deal - I didn't really NEED the raise.

In May, the day before our Disney trip - we were informed that one of our company's partner companies was being investigated by the FBI for fraud.. umm, okay. DFi was sick with anxiety for our entire Disney trip.

In July, we moved into our new building, but none of the offices had "real" furniture. We all had to use white folding tables for our desks, because the company couldn't afford furniture yet. Our old building got destroyed in a flood last year, so I can sympathize. It's rough having to replace everything.

In August, my supervisor got fired and I had to take over all his work - without an increase in pay or benefits. I'm just doing 2 peoples' jobs, basically.

In November, the company owner had a meeting with all us supervisors and told us that in the previous 3 months, they've been a day away from closing the doors.. TWICE. They said we had to find a way to get some money or we'd probably shut down.

Yesterday, we all got a 10% paycut and they've stopped matching our 401k accounts, and they announced more cuts may be coming. We'll know by Jan 20th if we're all getting laid off or not. Which means we all have to sit and hold our breath for the next 3 weeks to know if we have a job or not. :headache:

I'm just SO over work drama. I've already put my resume out to a couple places, hoping I can get outta here before they go under. DFi has an interview tomorrow for a financial analyst position at another company, which is nice as that's what he just got his degree in about a month ago. :thumbsup2 So, here's hoping 2010 will be a bit less stressful!

So happy 2009 is over!!

My DH informed me he wanted a divorce and left 2 year old DD and myself to be with his new girlfriend. 2010 can hopefully only get better for us!!!

For me this year has been pretty good, but I watch the news and I read the post on here and I know so many people who have had a hard time with one thing or another and for that I am happy to see it go. I pray that this next year will bring much joy to all of us and I pray that things can turn around for the better in our economy and bless us all.
