Hi all Figment fans! As the Disney Blog announced, today is Figment's 30th "birthday". Hard to believe that 30 years have elapsed since he made his first appearance!

Never knew until today that Figment wasn't around on Epcot's opening day!

And I STILL miss him and Dreamfinder and the original (and best) Journey into the Imagination.
And I feel sorry for people who never got to see the good one. Every now and then I find a video on the internet of the ride or parts of it.

My son's favorite!! We ride Journey into the Imagination at least 5 times per trip!

WOW!! I, too, thought he was older.... love Figment!!! The Imagination ride was one of my favorites as a kid.

I bought a Figment plush in 1986 on a trip with my Dad when I was 16. My almost 10 year old DD now has it and knows how precious he is. I <3 Figment!

I have a giant Figment. He is 52 inches from the floor to the top of his ears.

Did he come from the old Kodak lounge upstairs at the Imagination Pavilion? We have a few shots of us with a large Figment they had there.

Now if only they would bring back the original ride & Dreamfinder! What a splendid birthday present that would be! My DH has never seen the original and can't understand why I insist on going on the current ride. When I was a kid, we rode it 23 times in one day! LOVED the original!

Figment and I went to Epcot this morning. We rode Journey Into Imagination with Figment, but none of the CMs there seemed to know that today was Figment's birthday. We stopped to take a picture of Figment with the sign!

Then we headed to guest relations and got Figment a button for his birthday. The CM there thought it was cute that it was Figment's birthday. We spent the rest of the day at Magic Kingdom. Then it was time for dinner at 'Ohana. Figment was so happy...he got a birthday cupcake!

What's harder for me to believe is that means my 'baby' girls were 3 and 5 when they first met and fell in love with Figment and Dreamfinder

My wife bought it for me on eBay for $250 when we lived in Virginia. I know the price when they were discontinued was $450 plus $50 for shipping.

How it got to Virginia from the seller is a very long and convoluted story.
