I had originally planned on watching fireworks from TOTWL this October; however, I just saw the sneak peek of the new fireworks show Happily Ever After and I'm concerned. There are many more projections and less fireworks. I'm worried about watching them from TOTWL. From there, you will miss the projections, so I'm thinking this would not be a good place to watch. I'm still planning on watching the Halloween fireworks from the lounge, but I'm thinking of changing my plans around to see HEA in the park. What do you think?

Last night I booked a dessert party for July second because I want to see it all, not just the fireworks. Maybe after that time, I will be happy at TOTWL.

The view into the park from BLT is restricted and at a distance, only high fireworks are visible.

I think the projections are going to reduce the perceived value of out-of-park viewing from everywhere with viewing -- TOTW, Cali Grill, Narcoossee's, Poly Beach, etc. Hard to say if this will diminish the popularity of any of those viewing spots, though.

If you watched the "rehearsal" live-stream that people shared on this board somewhere, you would realize that Disney did not get rid of fireworks. There are actually a lot of fireworks in this show. Some people have reported there being more fireworks in this show than in Wishes, or about the same.

Yes, the sneak peek that Disney released didn't show a lot of fireworks. They showed a lot more of the projections and light testing.

I want to say for right now, have faith in this show. I'm sure there will be videos of it coming up on May 12th. I would watch one of them, and see if it holds up once the complete show is out there for the public to see.

In regards to TOTWL, you won't have a great view of the projections, but you will still have a great view of the fireworks. Part of me has wondered if Disney would consider adding projections to the back side of Space Mountain so that people watching from there and California Grill would be able to see the show with projections. It would still be far away, but easier to point out than a blocked castle.

*I just looked for the video I talked about above, and that has since been taken down by the poster on another website.*

I thought about that, but dessert parties for October 28 and 30 have no availability.

This makes me feel a little better about it. I just really DO NOT want to be in MK on a non-party night due to the crowds. I wanted a more relaxed atmosphere. I think I will keep my park days the same. I just need to decide if I want to see it for the first time from a distance or skip it altogether on this trip and plan a dinner away from the area. I'll take your advice and wait until after the 12th.

This is also why I think that even if the external view is less due to program design, the usual destinations will retain popularity.

I sincerely hope that when designing this show they remembered they are in need of spreading people out more for viewing - that the experience on main street and in front of the castle is really just too crowded and that they can't do something like what happened at DHS where the projections now means the show has to be seen from a much smaller area than the fireworks used to be. But DHS and the projections that Disney has fallen in love with (which are cheaper than fireworks) is why I'm crossing fingers but am skeptical of what we'll see. Still holding out hope though as there's nothing else I can do.

I wonder if they are trying to limit some of the fireworks with the drought right now. They've had multiple fires in Florida just since the beginning of the year.

I'm with those who are saying to wait and see. :teeth:

There were a lot of projections/images that went with the special fireworks that were part of the Moonlight Magic events at the MK. The fireworks with those two evenings were the best I've ever experienced and that includes those that are shown with MNSSHP and MVMVCP.

I have to say that I'm not in love with projections.

Last late spring when Disney was putting together the new Star Wars fireworks show at DHS, they had a few preview shows where they were testing out the projections but mostly just had a spectacular array of fireworks set to the Star Wars music. The projections were really minimal and not a focus of the show.

The husband and I felt that that show was WAY better than what they now call the Galactic Spectacular. I'm thinking that more fireworks are better. Why does everything have to be a movie screen now?

I watched it on the Disney Parks Blog tonight. The projection show makes TOTWL a little less awesome, but it looks like there is still a good deal of pyrotechnics which should still make watching the show from TOWTL a unique experience. If you're in the park, I think you may need to be in the hub to enjoy the show. Anything further back than Casey's may not be as enjoyable. We're looking forward to seeing the show live in July!!

I watched it there, too. There is so much going on the front of the castle that you need to be there at least once to see it. Then I can go back to New Fantasyland to see the fireworks. I still am not a fan of TOTWL.

Well, I waited and then I saw the video. Definitely a must-see in the park for me! I changed my park days and ADRs around and will be seeing it for the first time in MK. Future trips may have me seeing it from the Poly or TOTWL, but I must see it up close the first time.

We are direct owners at DVC. Will the viewing be opening for non-BLT guests to view July 4th Fireworks? We are staying at Poly this trip and didn't know to watch fireworks from beach or TOWL on July 4.

No, that is a restricted night only for those staying at BLT as is July 3rd.

On July 3 and 4, you must be staying on your DVC membership at BLT to view the fireworks from TOTWL. If you are staying at the Polynesian for that trip, you won't be allowed up on those two nights.

Hey Bill, Actually we were there last week, 9th floor MK view. You could see all the fireworks fine. Castle detail....not so much. It was pretty cool, I think we saw 2 test runs from our balcony last week before seeing them in the park on opening night.
