....in 3 days!!!!!!!!!! :cool1: :woohoo: We light our first candle sunday evening and I'm VERY excited. It will be our son's 1st Hanukkah and I can't wait. Or would it be his second since he was born on the 1st day of Hanukkah last year?? :confused3  Of course you know Chanukah moves all around the month of December and last year the first day was the evening of Dec 4th and that's when our son was born! :yay: So in a manner of speaking, he gets to celebrate TWO birthdays....Dec 4th and the 25th of Kislev...HANUKKAH! :goodvibes

All of you who celebrate Chanukah, have a blessed one! :flower3: (and yes I know, I alternated between the spellings of the word, I do that all to often) :rolleyes1

"a festival of lights. Instead of one day of presents, we have 8 Craaaaaazzzzyyyy nights!"

Sorry I read your title and couldn't help but hear Adam Sandler's song in my head!

Happy Holidays to you!!!

Although I'll be celebrating Christmas on Thursday, I wanted to wish you and your family a Happy Hanukkah!!!! Enjoy lighting the candles!!!! :)

Happy Hannukah! We celebrate Christmas but my kids are in LOVE  with Hannukah. Luckily my Jewish friend makes a point to include us at least one night and her mom will tell the kids the story of Hannukah and the kids get to help light the candles and eat latkes and whatnot. It's so much fun and if I'm being honest, so much less stressful than Christmas.:thumbsup2

oh and I thought of the Adam Sandler song too. :lmao:

Happy Hanukkah to you too.. Tomorrow we are getting together at my brothers house for a first night celebration.. latkes for all!!!:thumbsup2

Technically, this is his second Chanukah, since he was born on the first day, his bris would have been on the last day. So you owe him 8 gifts from last year :lmao:

Have a very Happy Chanukah!!

Doesn't the first candle get lit tonight at sundown?

Wait, I'm wrong. Hanukkah 2008

In 2008 Hanukkah begins at sundown on Sunday December 21.

So it begins tomorrow night.

Happy Hanukkah! My kids are so excited. After we light the menorah they love to spin around like crazy as we sing the dreidel song. Oh, I agree that Hanukkah is a lot less stressful than Christmas. They both are fun holidays though and we have friends help us celebrate Hanukkah and we help them celebrate Christmas a bit.

Yes...it starts tomorrow :scared1: . I haven't wrapped one present!! I also have only found 1 roll of paper. I have tons somewhere ...I just can't remember where I stored it :confused3 . I think maybe the garage..but DH keeps moving things around... got plenty of newspapers though.. think the kids will mind??

At this point..DD12 gets nada!! She was supposed to finish schoolwork yesterday..but claimed she didn't feel well. Well today she has done nothing!! Tomorrow night will be interesting.

Happy Chanukah everyone!!

Little Latke
Sung To: "I'm a little teapot"

I'm a little latke, round and brown,
Here is my upside, here is my down.
When I am all ready, take a bite,
And eat me up on Hanukkah night.

And a Very Happy 1st Birthday to your DS Tiggerlover91. My DS was born on the 5th day of Hanukkah 4 years ago, so he gets to celebrate his birthday twice each year too.
