Hanging clothes out to dry

I hang clothes and sheets outside as much as I can. NEVER under garments though! My daughters would kill me if I hung up stuff like that!

In the winter they hang in my basement....I only use the dryer for socks, undies and towels.

I have never had a problem with the jeans getting stiff...I use lots of fabric sofener. Towels I throw in the dryer...they are fluffier that way.

They hardly even have electric dryers over here in England.

Which I don't understand 'cause it rains like...all the time!

Our dryer is gas not electric....along with our stove...I can't stand cooking on an electric stove!

Always hang my washing out on the line.........except for good clothes & school uniforms........I keep them inside out of the sun

Don't you have one where you live then, Vamp?

Most people I know, including us, have dryers. Also all the laudermattes/places that clean your clothes do too.

I either use our washer/dryer or hang them over a clothes drier.

It might save $$ by not running the dryer- but my time to carry it upstairs- outside, then hang it, unhang it and carry it in is worth a LOT more than the 75 cents i'm saving by not running my dryer for 1/2 hour!

I always hang my clothes out on the line, and would love to wash my sheets everyday just to go to bed and have that smell Actually I hang everything out and couldn't care less what my neighbors think about my undies! It's my yard! I do throw the towels in the dryer for a little while after they have been hung out just to fluff them up. I too remember my mother hanging clothes out even in the winter in Wis. and if it was to bad in the basement.
