Handicapped rooms at HH

I have booked a two bedroom at HH for thanksgiving week. Now I wonder if there are handicap accessible rooms. My mom broke her leg and arm last year and can't do stairs and uses a wheelchair alot. I will call MS in the morning but I am a little worried. Does anyone know if there are any two bedrooms accessible by a handicapped person.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom handicapped several years ago. I believe all of them are in the main building with the elevators. We were at the back behind the office. We parked under the building and took the elevator. It was very nice and plenty of room. As I remember the handicapped room was the second bedroom. It only had a bed and a sofa bed if that is a problem. I don't remember if the main bedroom was handicapped or not. My mother slept in the second bedroom because she was the one that needed it. Just make sure you ask for a handicapped room and get them to to hold one for you. If you have already booked it just call them back and get them to hold one. You just can't ask for one. You have to have member services call the resort and have one put on hold. That is the only way you will for sure get a handicapped room. Hope you Mother does well and enjoys her trip.

If they don't have an accessible room at least request building 11 or 12 so that you will have the elevator and not need to deal with the steps in the other buildings!

Thanks guys, I will call MS this morning. This makes me feel better. It sounds like the 2 bd in the main building is a lock off with a studio and a 1 bedroom. That is fine there will be six of us but that will be great! As long as she doesn't have to try to climb stairs.

We stayed in the same room as Merilyn. The bed was a little lower, the counter tops were lower and open underneath for wheelchair access and the shower was very large so you could wheel right into it. Very accomidating for a wheelchair.

The best part was the room was next to the lobby where they put out the lemonade and cookies every afternoon. Funny how I always need to go back to the room about that time.

Thanks for the advice! I called MS and they called HH and put a code on my reservation that guarantees a building with an elevator. Woo Hoo!! Thanks for the help.
