The local dollar tree also had 2 packs for $1. They also had something called Toastie Toes that went in your shoes. I don't know if I'd run in them though. It might be worth exparimenting with.
Me too! I'm more concerned about it being unseasonably warm this year. I just turn in to jelly in the heat. In the cold, at least I can put on an extra layer and just keeping moving to stay warm.
While I don't run well in heat (it rarely gets above 65 here in the Pacific Northwest), I will kiss Mickey's feet if I have an awful hot, humid, miserable run this year. Last year was so awful and I didn't enjoy our vacation AT ALL because of the cold. I'd usually pray for 45 degrees at the start line, but this year BRING ON THE HEAT!!! I want to use the resort pool for once and be able to enjoy my Dole Whip!
That said, I've been stocking up on hot hands and dollar store gloves for this trip.
So when we all have heat strokes and heat-related issues we know who to blame!![]()
Yup, bring on the blame! If I get to wear flip flops and actually use the cute Nemo swim diaper I bought for my son, then you may direct any scathing torrents of anger in my direction. I will happily take it.
I don't think you understand just how cold it was last year...I'm not sure what was worse: the half in the sleet, or the windburn and going 5 hours without feeling my hands from the full.

Dude, I grew up in Calgary in Canada. -40 with the windchill is not uncommon. But there's a big difference between 30 degrees for a 10K, and 30 degrees for a marathon. One hour running in the cold isn't bad.... 5 hours running in the cold is miserable.

As is running in high humidity and heat. I maintain that you can always put stuff on (gloves, etc), but you can only strip so far. LOL.
I ran Goofy on Ice (as Kirsty calls it) last year, and I wasn't miserable at all. With long sleeves and tights on, I was warm and comfortable the whole time I was running. The freezing rain sucked, sure, but the temperatures weren't all that bad.

I've always said I'd rather deal with cold. You can always ADD layers, but there is only so much you can take off in public (and heck, even in private when you're down to your birthday suit, you can't go any further!)!
