Hand warmers

Different strokes. I didn't find the freezing rain that bad (I live in Seattle - I run in freezing rain 6 months of the year) but the cold and wind during the marathon made me want to quit. I had such bad windburn on my face that I was putting Body Glide (as a kind of 'chapstick') on my bleeding cheeks for days afterwards. I found the temperatures brutal and I will cancel the trip and lose some money if the forecast is looking like that again. A week at Disney in 20/30/40 degree temperatures with a 5 month old is not something I will do this year. I'd rather have a bit of sucky running weather and be warm for the rest of the trip!

Edited to add: I found 2009 to be pretty ideal. 40 at the start, 50 at the finish, 60 during the afternoon.

I didn't mind the freezing rain while I was running. It was when my teeth started chattering while waiting in line for the bus back to the hotel that I'd had enough of it. :)

And I can certainly see why people with kids don't want the cooler temperatures. I don't have any, so the running weather is more important than the park weather. Although marathon Monday might not be so much fun if it's raining.
