Hand-checking cameras and film at airports?

Are airports still hand-checking cameras and film? I have a digital camera that I really don't like to send through the X-ray machines because the one time I did, I had problems with it the entire trip and some of those problems have remained since that trip. I'm most interested in MCO (Orlando) where they were always grouchy about hand-checking cameras to begin with...

you can ask. I sent mine thru and the pictures came out beautifully. if I knew how to post them I could show you.

I ran my Nikon cool pic 950 right through the scanner. No problem, also the laptop, no problem, and the Nikon lite touch 120 and film, no problem and the compact flash too.
Again, no problems.
Orlando is bogged down with checking stuff, but, I am sure they will be delighted to hand check it if it is allowed. Of course, that may mean everything else you have will be hand checked too.
