Hi,
We are staying in a Villa at Hampton lakes next year and wondered if it is feasable to go to the parks early in the morning, go back to the villa in the afternoon and return to the parks early evening.
How much travel time will this involve? Has anyone done this? Any info would be great.
Cheers Linda

We've stayed at Lake Berkley which is a similair distance from the Disney Parks but on the other side off the 192. It's roughly 15-20 minutes and it's an easy drive. We do this a lot - an early start as the gates open - stay till the parks start filling up in the early afternoon and then back to the Villa for a swim and a few relaxing hours before going back to the parks for fireworks/dining or dining offsite. It's a great way to break up the day especially if you've got young kids as the heat can be a bit oppressive if you try and spend all day at one park

Just checked the map - Hampton Lakes is a lot closer to Disney than I thought - even less of a drive - 10 minutes maybe.

Stayed at Hampton Lakes last year , we turned left onto the US27 then onto the US192 and the trip to Disney was about 15-20mins. For Universal turn right onto the US27 then onto the I4 and Universal is about 20mins

All in all a 2-3 hour break midday is very feasable

We have stayed there twice before and are going back again this year. We have never gone back to the villa for a break before heading back to the parks.
With 3 children we felt it was such a chore to have to get out of the park get into the car and go home. We are never there in the height of summer and the kids manage quite well . Remember it can take as long to get out of the MK as it does to travel to the park from the villa.
To be honest unless you were planning to go back for a parade later at night it wouldn't be worth going for anything else. You could find all the fastpasses gone for particular things and could find yourself queuing.

Depending on what time of year you visit a break from the parks during the day is essential, we cartainly cannot do a full day with a child in 90 degree heat.
Therefore going back to the villa and returning later on is a very good idea, and something many of us do.

The only problem, for us anyway, is that by late afternoon/early evening Josh often just wants to stay in and play - mainly because he is a very early riser in the morning.

A map of most of the villa communities is below:
