Hamilton on PBS

When DD and her friends (fiends) first started talking about it being on TV I thought it was the musical, it wasn't until about a week ago that I realized it wasn't. I am still looking forward to seeing it though. I would love to get tickets to the show, that would be a great Christmas present for DD.

I can't find it on my PBS anyone know what time it's coming on/what the title is.

PBS says 9/8 Central and we are Central but our local station website says 9. So we'll check at 8 and if not, check again at 9. It is also airing again Sunday afternoon and 2 am Monday. DD15 has been singing the songs and watching what she can online. I watched a little bit in the beginning of her interest in it and didn't get into to it but as she sings the songs or listens to them I just marvel at the lyrics. Pretty cool.

Guess you are so busy spell checking you missed the 8 ;) Thanks for the heads up!

No, I saw the 8 -- just wondered how many other fiends were too busy being fiendish to participate. :stir:

This close to Halloween, who knows what her friends are up to -- hope the fiends aren't out clowning around.

I haven't seen Hamilton live (yet), but I love the cast recording. Looking forward to the show tomorrow.

Just set the DVR. We saw the show in Chicago last week and loved it!

Thank you for this!! We will definitely be watching. Dh and I saw it when it first came to broadway. My kids are obsessed with the soundtrack. They don't know but I bought tix during the Amex presale a few weeks ago and am taking them in June!!!

Just so you know, recordings of theatre shows aren't called soundtracks. They're called cast albums or cast recordings. It's a very common mistake, but it's a pet peeve for a lot theatre people. Hope you and your kids have a great time! :)

I set the DVR but didn't watch until today. They showed a lot of stuff, including interviews with historians. They interviewed a couple of former Treasury Secretaries, and for some reason George W. Bush.

They also had parts of the first performance of one of the songs that would go into Hamilton at the White House, when they were there to perform parts of In the Heights.

It's was rather interesting, and the clips from the musical were amazing.

I really enjoyed this show. I watched it the first time with 9 high school kids, my sister and my niece so I watched it more thoroughly a second time and thought it was excellent. Made me want to see the show that much more.

This was a very well done making of documentary. I did wonder what would have happened if it never became a big thing would PBS just showed it as a making of a musical? Who knows.

Crazy to see how much it has changed many of their lives. Lin Manuel Miranda just use to be another theater person but now he is apart of the pop culture lexicon.

The documentary spent about as much time covering the history of Alexander Hamilton as it did on the making of the musical.

That's true but I wonder if people would be as crazy over Hamilton as they are right now if not for the musical.

I thought the documentary was terrific, I am anxiously awaiting Hamilton coming to Denver in June 2017.
