It is worth every drop of acclaim it has gotten. Trust me I don't always agree with the critics. Dear Evan Hansen just opened to critical acclaim by I saw it not to long ago and didn't like it at all. There were a few songs that stood on their own and were good songs but the show as a whole was just bad to me. Of course I also enjoy Natsha Pierre and the Great Comet but others hate that. I think the most important thing to being able to give an opinion on a piece of theater is at least seeing it. At bare minimum listing to the cast album but often times I find the cast album is not enough as many are not from the final version of the production, even Hamilton has things missing and it is one of the best produced cast albums in years.
