Julia,

Aggghhh! I can't believe Rach has chicken pox! Poor baby! :( How is she feeling today?

Bummer about the pin code, but you are still going to have a fabulous time at Disneyland -- there's always next year! ;)

Aww poor thing with chicken pox! I feel bad she has to miss out on those activities that she was looking forward to! Hope she start feeling better soon!

Aww! Poor Rachael!!! I hope she gets better soon!! Poor thing has to miss her activities at Day Care.. :(

:tink: Here's some pixies dust she gets well ASAP!!

Poor thing:worried: I feel sorry for her and I feel sorry for you. How awful and totally hard. Hopefully you and hubby have both had them. Good luck.

Yes, we have! She's had her 1st vaccination though- so it's been a very mild case, I was really freakin' out that first day though...

Julia,

I'm so happy you're back! :hyper: She's a lot better- she had a very mild case so it's all good. That pin code is really really calling to me..... it's hard to resist....

Aww poor thing with chicken pox! I feel bad she has to miss out on those activities that she was looking forward to! Hope she start feeling better soon!

She already is! Thank you so much for caring! It was extremely mild and she's already healing up! :bitelip:

Aww! Poor Rachael!!! I hope she gets better soon!! Poor thing has to miss her activities at Day Care.. :(

:tink: Here's some pixies dust she gets well ASAP!!

Thanks so much! She was just tickled by all the get wells from all of you. She is actually about better! She broke out for 24 hrs, with not many spots- maybe 20 in all, and she's already healing over! She got SOOOO lucky! She has been vaccinated so not only did she get a milder case- but she nearly got away with murder! She is doing great!

Planning has been totally put on hold. We've had 4 days of beautiful weather and we have to soak it up when we can. It's been so miserable in the midwest this year and it's so nice to not be freezing or have rain. I'll get my butt in gear, I promise! :duck:

Thanks for the welcome home! I am glad that Rachel is feeling better! Thank goodness for the vaccine! I remember missing like a week of school and being miserable when I was in the second grade.

It's been awhile here. I have put off my planning for the summer. I'm just too busy! Rach has ice skating.... Ebin has soccer.... we live less than 5 min. from the beach so every day that it's nice it's BEACH TIME! Yea, I know, how horrible of a DIS-er I am. But I must say-- now that nice weather has finally arrived, I'm eatin' it up. Winter lasted waaaaay too long by us, that's for sure.

So, I'll be back with some scrapbook pix, etc. (that's going well- it's really really cute) now and than, and I still comment on your TR's when I have time, but just lettin' you all know why I'm MIA.

:beach: L8R!

PS- Rach is all better! Thank goodness! :hyper:

So... it's been a while. Summer is going nicely. I am going to add pix of my scrapbook pages & our trip to the Milwaukee Zoo from the Fourth of July!
We've been to the beach umpteen times... Ebin's soccer is finally over,
and Rachael's group ice skating is done. I'm glad for that. She'll be picking up private lessons
though after a couple weeks of a break. She loves it, but group didn't go so
well, thanks to the parent's who enrolled girls who had never been on skates
AT ALL. The teacher spent most of the time holding their hands and trying to keep them standing, rather than teaching any skills needed. Even THEY graduated to the next level, and once we heard that, Rach & I decided private lessons would be better for her. She wants to learn to skate, not watch some girls spend 45 minutes falling all over themselves. :offtopic:

Anywayz, as for disney planning- you may have noticed I changed my title to
Dreamin' of Halloweentime.... and that's because I'm not sure we're going to be able to swing the balance in time to go when we have it booked. So we're looking at a couple of other dates... Nov. 27-30th so we'll still have the Nightmare layover for HM, or Jan 15-19th. We've told the kids already that we've moved it to spring, so it will be a surprise for them whenever we go, as they think that we're going later on.

I really thought we could swing it, but the summer isn't going as planned! Gas prices are hitting us HARD, as hubby is in cable installation, and has to provide all the gas for his work truck- which gets around $100-$120/wk. We'll get to claim all that on our taxes next year, of course, however, that doesn't help things right now, does it?

I seriously can not WAIT till tax season, how many people say that, right? We've got so many business expenses to write off. I wonder how much we'll get back, woo-hoo!

Anyone else in that same boat?

Oh, and DD starts Kindergarten at the end of August! Yay :yay: for no more $132/wk daycare! Wow! I can't wait! Seriously- after that, we'll have the trip paid off in NO TIME! However, not so sure in time for our Sept. 9th deadline. BUT, never say never! I won't let the fat lady sing until we're 46 days out and I have to make the decision to change our reservation or not. That'll be.... around Aug. 21st. So...

that's all with me! See ya on the boards! :thumbsup2

Oh how exciting for DD. And wonderful for you no more expensive daycare. Isn't the price of gas horrible, it's nice you can write it off. I usually use our tax money to go to Disneyland as a family so that extra money would be nice. But at the time you are spending it originally it hurts.

Sounds like you are having a lovely summer! I hope that private lessons go better for Rachel -- that would bug me, too, about the group lessons.

I can't wait to see your scrapbook pages -- I have been trying to get caught up so I can focus on my last two Disney trips -- those are the ones I really enjoy doing!

I know that gas prices are hitting us hard, too -- we haven't been going and doing as much as we normally do in the summer. Thankfully, we have a pool in the neighborhood so that provides hours of enjoyment for the kids.

I hope you can swing the Halloween trip!!! If not, at least, you have two back-up plans!!! :thumbsup2

No more daycare is going to be heavenly..... And I can not wait for our tax return. Hopefully will pay for another Disney trip! :lmao:

Here they are, as promised! And yes, we're also not doing as much as usual. :sad2: A lot of hangin' around the house. And def. gotta have those back-up plans!

So! Here's those photos I said I'd post anywayz.....

First is our Fourth of July trip to the Milwaukee County Zoo in... where else? Milwaukee, WI, which is only about an 60-80 minutes away. It is a REALLY nice zoo. Pretty nicely themed and the animals have great areas to live and play in. They do a great elephant demonstration (though I didn't get pix cuz we kind of stumbled upon it.... :confused3 ) and we saw a seal show/demonstration in their "Oceans of Fun" section. We got to feel sting rays and sharks, feed them too (eww- that was totally wierd! ). There were peacocks ALL OVER the park- very cool. All I really wanted to see was zebras & giraffes- they had both, yea!

We rode a train that circles the park (very nice break for our feet- lemme tell ya!) and rode the "Sky Rail" which is some ski-lifts, basically. I'd never been on one those so that was neat. Though kind of spooky too-- do they all make creaky noises? The food was expensive but we didn't want to haul around coolers, so that's the price we paid. Rach got a stuff-your-own penguin that she promptly named "Katie" (the name of all her stuffed creatures). It was a perfect weather day, which we ended with a drive down to the lakefront to view sailboats and the lake in general. Jim and I decided to make it a plan to get out there soon for an adults-only weekend. They have a pretty nice downtown, with something going on every weekend through fall, and neat stuff to do.

And here's the pics of my scrapbook pages so far. I don't have a scanner so I had to take actual photographs of them. So, keep in mind, I am 100% a beginner, but I think they're pretty cute! These are in an 8x8 page album, that I showed y'all in an earlier post.

It looks like you guys had a lot of fun.:goodvibes

Those are great pics of you and your family! Except you appear to be missing one of your children...going back to read where Ebin was...where was Ebin???

Your scrapbook pages turned out great! I really need to get working on mine -- I just seem to keep falling farther and farther behind!

Awww! Thanks for noticing my little guy was missing! :guilty: He was actually at his mother's parent's for his yearly summer week-long stay with that side of the family w/his 2 cousins that are boys his same age-ish (I think 7 and 8 or 9). We missed him- the zoo was really a distraction for us, as we were supposed to have him that weekend too!

I really like scrapbooking, it turns out-it's fun and I get to re-live my memories, or something cheesy like that! Have a good week!

So let's get something clear, when I get something in my mind- it's almost set in stone. I mean, I'm just like that. I make goals. I meet them. Usually. Almost always. :thumbsup2

Disneyland is my goal. :lovestruc

However, DH? Same way. Difference is, HIS goals/ideas are VERY spur of the moment and happen very quickly.

So what's this about, you ask? :confused3

My husband has decided he needs to see Niagra Falls. Like... now. :scared1: This summer. In the next few weeks, specifically. He isn't budging, people. Apparently, he has been waiting his WHOLE ENTIRE LIFE to see Niagra Falls and if I don't let us do this, I am the meanest wife on the face of the planet. When I reminded him that about 2 years ago, I suggested the same trip, and he scoffed at the idea, he shrugged that off with a typical-lame-male-response-that-I've-already-forgotten.

Now, if we do this, there is NO WAY we are going to meet our deadline of Sept. 9th balance due to WDTC. I'll have to reschedule till either November or February!:guilty: I've decided January is too crazy....

Oh good heavens. So now I'm frantically trying to piece together a family camping road trip to Niagra Falls that would include some fun stuff for the kids. I think driving 10 hours to see a big waterfall would be a bit of a let-down for a 5 and 6 year old, ya think? :headache:

Anyone have any knowledge about Niagra Falls, NY and that whole Buffalo area? :confused3 I'm lost. And irritated. :snooty:

Grrrrrrr.......
