Okay, I realize I could probably dig around in other threads and find this information but it would be lovely if some experienced Disneyland-goers here could give me some advice. :) We are flying down Monday, Oct. 24 and will go to the Halloween party that night. We will be there for three more days and will probably go to Universal Studios on Wednesday, Oct. 26 - the day when there is another MHP. But I can buy a two day park-hopper pass for Tuesday and Thursday, right? You don't have to go two days in a row with a 2-day ticket, right?
We are staying at Desert Inn & Suites. What is the best airport to fly into (we are coming from PDX)? Any other advice or past experience you can share with me would be greatly appreciated... like how to get from airport to hotel and from hotel to Universal Studios for a day. :) Thank you!
no you don't have to go two days in a row with a PH. The closest airport is SNA and the 2nd closest would be LGB. I like them both as they are small airports less congested than LAX which I avoid at all costs. I like supper shuttle for transportation from airport to hotel. As far as transportation to US there are also shuttles but it might even be better to rent a car.

Last year I purchased as an AP member. This year I let it lapse, but still have a Disney Visa. Can someone tell me about pre-purchase with Visa? Is there discount or just pre-purchase date?
Thanks!!! Hooray Pumpkin Time!
There is a discount for certain nights. If you read in the beginning of this thread where the prices are listed it states which nights are discounted.

Did I miss the prices somewhere? Also, I'm a little irritated that the party date structure changed. We went in 2012 and 2014 and we're in the parks Mon-Thurs. In those years the parties only fell on 1 of those 4 days. For this year, I bought a 3-day park hopper knowing the 4th day would be a party day (in at 3pm) but now with a second party I feel like we're getting shorted. What should my strategy be? Also, we're traveling with 12 other family members (15 of us total!), 9 of which have never been, the other 3 haven't been since before CA and then my husband, daughter and myself.
Since you are getting hoppers you can just head over to DCA when DL closes on the second party night.

Hmm...has anyone else noticed that other than Erin mentioning it in her post briefly that Ghost Galaxy is missing from the Halloween time/Halloween party entertainment list?

Disney has a problem with releasing information in an easy-to-locate manner. Or timely. Or with clarity. But hey! Execs can boast their site traffic is through the roof! :headache:

Ghost Galaxy will run during the Halloween season....thankfully!

From the Disney new site:
ANAHEIM, Calif. (July 13, 2016) – Halloween time, a season for fun-loving spirits of all ages, adds spooky excitement to the Disneyland Resort from Sept. 9 through Oct. 31. Special Halloween-themed attractions–Haunted Mansion Holiday and Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy–return to Disneyland Park, while the haunts who reside year-round at The Twilight Zone™ Tower of Terror invite guests to “drop in” at Disney California Adventure Park.

Can anyone here who happens to still have a map from last year's MHP verify what the closed rides were? I am trying to update the MHP post on page 1, and the ride closures that I found from 2015 were:

Tarzan’s Tree House
Casey Junior
Storybook Land Canal Boats
Enchanted Tiki Room
Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln

Obviously the Main Sreet vehicles wouldn't have been running either.

I can confirm that Tarzan’s Tree House, Enchanted Tiki Room and Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln were closed. Casey Junior was open and Storybook Land Canal Boats was listed as being closed during parade times.

I was hoping that GG would not be the overlay this year. I guess I'm going to miss Season of the Force again. When does SWL open up - maybe we'll come back then. BUT I'm still coming THIS year for my birthday in October. I just wanted something a bit different from last year... more than just the Headless Horseman.

I took these pictures last night but had trouble uploading them with my phone. They aren't the best images, but hopefully they will help.

Whaaaaaaaat!? They want to change Tower of Terror? Permanently? I hope Im just late to the conversation and missing something. That would totally ruin my day.

There was a rumor going around that it was being changed to Guardians of the Galaxy or something like that. I don't believe it will happen though. Tower of Terror is iconic the way it is!!!

Thoughts on crowds Oct 9-12 vs 15-18? We have been there over Columbus Day and didn't think it was too bad in past. Having been there over CRAZY Christmas time I can handle BIG crowds, just would prefer to not choose that! Thinking of doing party on Monday? So excited for Halloween Time at Disney.

We're going at the same time as you!

I would choose the 9-12, as those dates seem like the least likely to have crowds because of weekdays. You will have to deal with Columbus day, but I think the crowds will level out as the week goes on.

I am so excited. All I can say now is squeeeeee. I'm sure I'll be back later with questions

Now to ponder...........................

When we last visited at Halloween time, we did 2 parties. One to concentrate on trick or treating and the other to concentrate on lining up for pics. It worked great as we were not running around trying to do everything on the one night. Coming from Australia, Halloween is kinda a big deal to us as we don't celebrate it here. So, this year we are arriving on the 29th which is a party day. We will be buying tickets for the 31st as we have done Halloween night and loved it.
We can buy our tickets on the 21st as I am an annual pass holder.

The dilemma, jet lag! I hate it! And as we are arriving on the 29th I am wondering if I will have the stamina to get off a plane we have been on for 13 hours, get to the Disneyland Hotel, check in ( if our room is ready! ) and then hit the park for a party!

Decisions, decisions, decisions:scratchin:hyper::goodvibes

What time do you get in?

We do the time swap when we get on the long haul (either Sydney or Melbourne) - set our watches to Disney time. We are strict. 11pm Disney time and the entertainment goes off. Kids can sleep or rest...same for the adults.

When we arrive that 20 or so minutes before we arrive (630 or so in the morning), we get through the hubbub of LAX and to our hotel. Dump the stuff with the hotel (or in our room) and head to the parks. Sun and more sun...then go back to the room at 2pm and sleep for no more than 1.5 hours. Then back to the parks until they close. We all sleep well that night, but we don't have much trouble staying awake at night...too excited.

Best part is, I do t wake at 3am like I do if we don't spend the day in the parks. I guess that I am just too tired. Lol

I think I remember from the previous thread someone said they had a subscription to a touring plan site and could tell us estimate on crowd levels... Can you tell me what the crowds should be like October 24-28? Thanks in advance! :)

I sleep on planes. I think it has something to do with being trained to sleep while traveling as a kid. To avoid that "are we there yet?" issue, my mom trained us to go to sleep almost as soon as we got in the car, convincing us that we get there faster if we are asleep. LOLf

Anyway, is there any way you could slowly transition yourselves to adjust to the time change the week before you leave? Maybe go to bed an hour earlier each night, and get up an hour earlier, progressively until you are closer to the time change? I have no idea the time difference, so this might just be a dumb idea....

You don't need a subscription. You can do a quick Google search to find it. I'll do a screenshot if my phone will work

Excited to finally see the information out there. I had sticker sticker shoke over the prices. I am very annoyed at the increase in AP prices and then nondiscounted MHP tickets. I was hoping to go Friday night but without any discount we may try to take a day off work and do a mid week party. The difference between 89 and 72 is park snacks and merchandise. The benefits of the AP I feel get less and less as the prices increases, but there seems to be no shortage of people willing to go and pay it. At least start giving me child price tickets so I can feel better about spending a few dollars less!
