The time is quickly approaching for dining reservations! :hourglass :faint: Something to think about is if you are interested in the happiest haunts tour. The tour sells out very quickly, I feel like it was same day as they were released but it could have been a little longer. I know that by the time my friend and I decided to do it and I called the CM basically laughed at me and told me they had been sold out forever. The sign up is 30 days out for the tour. I went a few years ago and loved it and I believe @lorijohnhill went last year? If the choice is between the tour and a party, definitely choose the party but the tour is something different to do and a little cheaper. I wouldn't say to do it every year but It does change a little from year to year but I believe for the most part the same rides are involved.

Yes, my daughter and I did this tour last year. We enjoyed it, but would definitely NOT do it on a party night. We overlapped the party for a time and traversing the park in a group with the added trick or treat lines, made things a little difficult. We are going with my mom and "aunt" this year, so I am trying to decide if we want to do it again. My "aunt" hasn't been to DL for more than 20 years. I think both of them would enjoy the historical aspects of the tour.

Anyone else notice that DVC members and Disney VISA holders are NO LONGER listed on the website as eligible to purchase advance tickets? The blog clearly states we can, and I'm sure it was on the Disneyland.com/party page the other day, but it isn't tonight. I am freaking out.

Excellent advice! I agree it is way less stressful to do them different days. I did them both the same day as well because they were sold in a package, I wouldn't do that again besides it spreads out the enjoyment.

Are character lines long during MHP? They seem crazy long at MNSSHP, we've only ever waited for Jack Sparrow during MVMCP...But I'd love to see the fab 5 in pirate gear and the genie.

Some are very long. We waited through the villains line our first night and it took over an hour. We also did the villains line our second night at the party by starting the line before the party began. You need to be aware that they have 2 sets of 3 villains (6 total) that swap off. It's tricky to be sure you get who you are looking for.

We waited for Mickey and Minnie our second night for an insane length of time, maybe 90 minutes? They told us when we entered the line that it would be an hour. We gulped hard and decided to do it. But it took even longer.

You'll want to check the DL app and see who has been out during the regular park day. I think I saw Genie listed the other day.

We didn't have a hard time seeing Captain Jack because we were there during the fireworks our first night (watched fireworks our second night).

Donald was pretty easy. He was over on the treat trail by Rancho del Zocalo. The biggest challenge was making sure we were there when he was out. I think he swapped off with Chip and Dale, maybe Goofy?

At MHP do people camp out for hours for the fireworks?

Yes, they do.

Not sure if it's typical, but we walked by the hub at around 6:25 on our way to Frontierland and I was shocked at how many people were camped out already.

This has been my experience as well. :(

I found that I could show up a few minutes before and still get a good view near mainstreeet, but there were some who where crazy enough to camp out. I don't wait with young kids, they don't do patience well. That was the 2014 party.

I was at Disney last night and I saw some new merchandise that was new, or new to me for nightmare. A Jack hat that had the bottem as a pumpkin and some t-shirts. I haven't been all summer so they could hsve been there earlier, but it got me excited for Halloween.

I'm still deciding if we are going to do this or not. Its not a bad idea.

I had a list a mile long of characters I wanted to meet and things I wanted to do. I have found that doing 2 parties (have done that for years at WDW) really takes the pressure off so I can really enjoy it. It gives you 2 shots at lining up early for something at the start of the party. It also gives you one chance to do things during the fireworks since you can see them your other night.

i think we are going to do two parties -- for us with the exchange rate is about $100 per person per tix so i'm going to find another $300 for us to go to a second party!
you only live once and you can't take money with you......

My thought exactly!

Thank you for the info! LOVE your pic with Mickey and Minnie! My littlest would never wait (he's 4) that long for anything - we even divided ourselves so our oldest could meet Capt Jack last year at MVMCP, the younger ones were riding and getting their hot cocoa and cookies with me while Dad took 12 to meet her pirate! haha

We have been able to see the fireworks with finding a spot 15 mins before they start. And that is on Halloween night.

We only have the opportunity to go to one party and I don't want to waste precious time camped out on a curb. There are some rides I want to ride at night and we want to trick or treat. I'm not sure how big a priority meeting characters is going to be. We will be going to the first Monday night party so hopefully it won't be as packed. Wishful thinking I'm sure!

Does anyone know the AP process for purchasing party tickets? Do you have to call? Online possible? I've never purchased as an AP before...
