Just booked Halloween for the first time. Anyone been there that time of year. What's going on and things we won't want to miss? No kids, just the 2 of us. We will be at BWV 1st of the week then VWL thru past Halloween. TIA!

The big celebration at WDW during that time is Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. It's a separate ticketed event at night, and is apparently a great time! I'm sure you will have many people comment on the event, and whether it's a good value or not.

I have read from many who went to this event without children and still had a great time. Don't know if that's of interest to you or not.

DD 14 and I went 2 years ago and just had a blast! We were in costume and just enjoyed trick or treating with Mickey!! the special fireworks were fantastic.. I'd go again!

We have done MNSSHP twice without children and we are planning to do t again this year. We had a wonderful time, its a great and unique parade, lots of people dressing up and people are more in a FUN mode IMO anyway. Have a great time.

We've done Disney in October the last two years in a row and will be going again this year. MNSSHP is great, it's like an E-ticket night with a Halloween theme. Plan to spend a day or two at Epcot where you can sample food and wine from all over the world at the Food & Wine Festival. Also at Epcot is the 'Party for the Senses', it's a dining experience you'll not soon forget. There are other special dining events going on around WDW during this time year, last year we did Lunch and Learn at Jiko. Here's some info on last years events; http://allearsnet.com/tp/ep/foodwine.htm

Enjoy!

DH and I went last year and got hooked for MIckey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. We plan on taking in this event every year for now on. The parade at night is great. All the characters are dressed up for halloween. The extra time spent in the park is great for the little ones who want to trick or treat with the characters or awesome for rides for those that want to just take in rides.

We were there last year over Halloween---adults only, Dh & I and two friends. We did not do MNSSHP but saw many people dressed up for it! It was fun to see that even if we didn't participate. We were there mainly for the F&WF and are going again for that this Halloween. I hope to convince those that will be with us to take in MNSSHP too. We will be staying at VWL for the entire trip. Maybe I'll see you there!

DH and I will be going to MNSSHP and Halloween Horror Nights at Islands of Adventure. HHN is more intense with haunted houses and great makeup, etc.. They had a show about it on the Travel Channel last year and I said-we are going:) Of course we will be hitting Food and Wine (Epcot) as well-we loved that the last time we went. I hope we can get Party for The Senses tickets this year. Anyone know when they go on sale?

My family and I have been to the last 9 MNSSHP.It is our ALL TIME FAVORITE thing to do at WDW!

When we have gone the last week of Oct. I never get our tickets for Halloween night. We love Halloween and the dressing up part of it so we like to stretch it out a bit! On Halloween night we like to Trick or Treat at MKTPL at DTD.The Boardwalk has had some activities going on in the past such as pumpkin carving and character appearances.

DO NOT worry about crowds at MNSSHP.There is a limited amount of tickets sold for the event.Disney is very closed mouth about the actual attendance but the rides are very doable.Fantasyland gets a little crowded earlier in the evening but thins out as the night goes on and little ones wear out! I've never waited more than 10 mins in a ride line at on a party night. The Mts are practically WALK ONS! We've ridden Splash Mt 3 times in a row without leaving our log!

My biggest tip is the day of the party have a light schedule and take a NAP the afternoon of the party! I can't stress this enough!! My boys were 10 last year and we still did this.Even if they didn't actually sleep they watched t.v. and rested...Joe and I slept! LOL! You want to be able to stay as late as possible because the later it gets the more the crowd thins out.It seems alot of people start exiting after the fireworks which is shortly after the first parade.

Last year they went on sale towards the end of July. I know because I called for my tickets from my cell phone while sitting on the balcony at AKL. My girls were inside still sleeping and I didn't want to disturb them. Of course I was on hold for a long time and started to BAKE out there on that balcony! I got the tickets though!::yes::

Does MNSSHP go on the whole month of October? I am planning to be there with my mom and 2 DS's sometime in Oct, maybe the 2nd week.
