Halloween Time at Disneyland, Oct 16-19. Lots Of Pictures! Trip Report Completed

Hi! I just found your trip report an di shall endeavour to read it all.;) At least look at the pictures.

Okay so why did no one tell me there was a dog sharing part of my name? Hmm...anybody?
:rotfl2:

One more thought about a Halloween costume. Have you thought about going to a thrift store and looking to see what you can find? Sometimes you can come up with some pretty fun ideas at a thrift store. Maybe a scarecrow, and believe me you can make some pretty cute scarecrows or a flapper? Flappers are fun.

I do the same thing with pictures! That's why I'm trying to make this picture friendly! :thumbsup2

Thanks for looking. ;)

I remember the first time I saw your screen name, all I could think was "KAO!" I was going to tell you I had a dog named Kao, but I thought that might be weird. :rotfl:

Good ideas! Sadly, I don't know if I can afford to buy from a thrift shop (isn't that depressing!?). I thought about being a flapper girl, but I'm several pounds away from being able to pull that one off!

You would be surprised how forgiveable a flapper dress is. Trust me. And I bought my youngest DD a dress for a flapper costume at the thrift store as a matter of fact three dresses so she would have them to choose from and it cost me about $12. My daughters love thrift stores. They would buy all of their clothes there if I let them.

Oh and I wouldn't have thought you were weird having a dog named Kao. Kaoden on the otherhand....:rotfl:

And unfortunately I still could not afford it unless I want to starve at Disneyland, but I guess then I could pull of the flapper look... :rotfl:

Didn't I tell you? Kao is short for Kaoden. ;) Not really, but wouldn't that be weird.

Geesh!!

I've been trying to read back, and see if you got the time off. Finally found somewhat of a looooooooooooooooooooooooooong post, and...........................................YAY!!!!!!!!!!That color is for DIS lime green!!

Do you still want to share a meal? I promise I won't bite. (Unless you bring out the Redbull.) :rolleyes1
:rotfl2:
A cheap and easy costume is to be a gypsy, or pirate wench. (Ha Ha, the first time I typed that I spelled wrench.)

Anyways, so glad that all turned out good for you and your boss. :goodvibes

I know a good way to save some bucks this week. No Redbull, no candy corn and no red vines. Actually this really isn't a bad idea.:flower3: No lattes and no fast food. How does that sound? Every little bit counts you know.

OK..........enough Auntie Mel stuff.

I got a pedicure last week and I was thisclose to getting lime green done, but then I thought about it and realized no one would be seeing my toes, so it would be kinda pointless....

:rotfl2:

I would love to share a meal with you! I'll be sure to drink the Red Bull before I get into the park.

I want to be a pirate wrench! I cover myself in aluminum foil and stick a pirate hat on my head! :lmao:

Anyways, so glad that all turned out good for you and your boss. :goodvibes

Thank you! I'm pretty happy myself :dance3: You should know just how much I need this vacation!!!!

I know. :sad1: I stopped buying the candy corn. I finally just bought my first Red Bull in a week, but no more for awhile. I did buy 4lbs of Red Vines though for the car :rotfl: Hey, it was a good deal! The daily trips to Starbuck's have also stopped. *sigh* My world just isn't the same anymore...

OK..........enough Auntie Mel stuff.

Thank you for your advice Auntie Mel, I'll see you next week!!!! :woohoo:

I finally got caught up on your trip report. Your pictures are AWESOME, thanks so much for sharing.

I find it intresting that you like monkeys, so I thought you'd get a kick out of my daughters Monkey "leash". :lmao:

That's the Monkey leash my kid is going to be sporting one day!!!!!! I love love LOVE it!!!! My kid is going to have a monkey on its back!

I'm glad you like the pictures! I was pretty happy when I found them! :rotfl:

The Disneyland Hotel of the past. These pictures show exactly how I remember the hotel. I miss the way it was! I haven't stayed at that hotel for 7 years and I have no idea if I ever will be able to again, it just costs too much. I would stay in a park view room at GCH before I stayed at the Disneyland hotel. Hey, when I want something I think BIG, especially if I'm not paying! :rotfl:

In this first picture is my Aunt, my two cousins, my cousin's friend and me and my sister:

The view that I remember and the paddle boats that I miss!:

And of course, the old monorail drop off/pick up that was located next to a store that I always got to pick out a gift before we left for home. Oh the memories!:

If I could get my hands on a time machine, I would SO visit Disneyland throughout the years.

More great vintage shots! I totally remember seeing Fantasmic the first time.. wow... I figured it was going to be a waste of time (parade = NO PEOPLE ON THE RIDES!) but it was SO awesome. I was stricken, for sure.

Thanks for sharing the pics!

Hey Wendy!

Did you know that the Monorail station is in the exact same location as it was before? It's just that everything got so moved around, you would never know.

Do you remember the lobbly with the glass floors over the water, that you could walk on?

Yep...everything is sooooooooo different!

Your pics are great, by the way. :goodvibes

Thanks so much for all of those pics. My first time to DL (and yes I do mean DL. I never got to see any other area ) was last year, so I am enjoying looking at how things have changed!:goodvibes

I want to be a pirate wrench! I cover myself in aluminum foil and stick a pirate hat on my head! :lmao:
:lmao: :lmao: I must be delirious because that totally cracked me up. :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I'll give you a dollar if you do it. :rolleyes1

I love the old DLH shots!! We used to go walk around there when Adam was a baby! I loved the waterfalls (still there), the Koi fish (still there) and the remote controlled boats (gone).

Oh, and does anyone remember the Fantasy Waters show?? We'd hang out and watch that too. Then look in some shops and maybe grab a snack. It was our Disney fix when we were too broke to actually go into Disney. LOL

You can watch it on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUR5YQ7RALQ
Although looking at it now it seems like a pathetic version of the Bellagio fountains in Vegas. LOL

Hey Wendylady,

You don't, by chance, have a pic of the old Bar at the DLH do you????

That's one of the best parts of the parades, fireworks and Fantasmic, no lines!!! Getting around the park can be a PITA though!

I'm upset that Fantasmic wont be going on while I'm there. I like to watch it my first night there and then enjoy the rest of the days it's playing enjoying short lines!

You stop your lying! LIAR!

;)

Ugh, I hate walking on glass floors above water. Don't tell anyone, but I'm afraid of water. :scared1:

Not all water, just water that is deep/can't see to the bottom of.

I'm glad your enjoying them!!!

I'm broke enough to take that bet!

I love the old DLH shots!! We used to go walk around there when Adam was a baby! I loved the waterfalls (still there), the Koi fish (still there) and the remote controlled boats (gone).

You mean, these waterfalls:
scan0026.jpg

Those were my favorites! When I went last November I walked from the park to them (which is really a rather long walk after spending all day in the parks) only to find they had closed them for the night!!!

I don't like those Koi. One traumatic experience was enough for me to not like them!

I remeber the remote controlled boats too!

I remember the water show! I liked when I had a good room at the DLH to where I could just watch them from my balcony. Those were the days...

Hey Wendylady,

You don't, by chance, have a pic of the old Bar at the DLH do you????

Nope, I don't think I do. I didn't come across anything like that in my pictures at least. :confused3

Check out this website for some really cool pics and info on how things used to be: http://www.yesterland.com/

I love that website, I could spend hours and hours and hours on that site.

And unfortunately I still could not afford it unless I want to starve at Disneyland, but I guess then I could pull of the flapper look... :rotfl:

Didn't I tell you? Kao is short for Kaoden. ;) Not really, but wouldn't that be weird.

That would be funny. I must explain how I got my name. Ka is for Kacy, od is for Kody, and en is for Loren. When I decided I wanted Kaoden for an email address someone else had it. And I though I was unique.

Wow, I'm surprised Kaoden was taken! You should e-mail that person and tell them to give it up! :rotfl:

Thanks for sharing how you got the name, I was wondering what it meant.
