Halloween Horror Nights 2010?

If all that is correct, does that mean that potentially, the least expensive nights for AP holders are the FRI and SAT opening weekend? And since that is also the earliest you can possibly go, does that also make it potentially the least crowded??? Or would you say the first Thursday would be?

Are there non AP discounts for that first weekend? If not, it sounds like going the first Thursday, Sunday OR the first three Fridays would be the cheapest. But you would want to opt for Thursday if you wanted to shoot for a “potential least crowded” day.

For multiple nights, it sounds like FF is the way to go if you are okay with not going on FRI or SAT.
Based on history...the first few weekends are Passholder weekends and the tickets are pretty cheap. Last year on opening weekend the tickets were like $25.99 or so for passholders but I expect the tickets to go up this year. There is also a passholder party (Premier and Preferred APs only) the first two weekends but remember...If you purchase the Frequent Fear Pass (as I do) you will not be able to use it for the parties on the second weekend...only the opening weekend.

The only other discounts that I remember are for FL residents only and those are good throughout the event...nothing special for opening weekend. But remember...Passholders can purchase up to six tickets per night with their Premier or Preffered AP.

It's always better to go on Thursdays & Sundays since they have been slower than weekends but there's hardly any difference any more...every night is busy.

I wouldn't advise purchasing the Express passes ahead of time as they will sometimes offer unadvertised specials like they did a few years ago. I purchased the EP for $75.00 but had I waited, I could have gotten one for $25.00 in the S & S area that night! I was really mad so I don't purchase ahead of time. Do what you feel is best for you of course but I'll wait until that night.

Can someone clear up a ticket question for me please? Is S&S a different ticket option from just a regular HHN ticket? Or do you just take advantage of S&S by being in the park before they pull the GP out?

Also, will tickets and HHN EP go on sale as soon as the dates are announced? Thank you!

HHN newbie here...can ya tell?

We've never done the HHN, but my son is wanting to try it. He is 14, but much more into horror movies than me. I will probably be the one scared.

The S & S "ticket" is actually a regular HHN ticket sold at a discount called the S & S Upgrade. The upgrade is mainly for people who are in the park that day and want to stay for HHN.

If you already have a way to be in the park before closing and will have your HHN ticket, you can do S & S w/o any other ticket being purchased. You will need to show your HHN ticket for that night when you enter the S & S area so make sure you have already purchased it ahead of time.

The tickets should be available as soon as the information comes out but there is no need to purchase right away so could wait if you wanted.

1. If possible, avoid peak nights (FRI and SAT) and Sundays. I think this only leaves Thursdays and ONE Wednesday.

3. Opening weekend is also normally Passholder Weekend and some discounts are offered for those HHN tickets. Remember that opening weekend does not include that Sunday, so FF passes would not be valid (right?).

Sundays can be packed, but tolerable if you get there early and have a plan. Just plan by 9:00 to soak up the atmosphere, maybe catch one of the shows.

And actually FF passes generally include the first Friday/Saturday, although you are correct, no Sunday event.

WHEN YOU GET THERE

1. Save the soundstage houses for last
2. Go to the Jaws HH first.
3. Get the sugar honey iced tea scared out of you.
4. Lather, rinse, repeat.

If you do Stay & Scream--and if at all possible, do it--at least one, probably two, soundstage houses will open before the rest of the park. Get those done first, of course. Then, last year, the third house would be the next to open--if the line isn't bad, say under 30 minutes, do this next.

Two reasons: first, the S&S lines are still shorter than what the lines will be like at the end of the night. And second, soundstage houses work a lot better in broad daylight than the Jaws house, because they are fully enclosed. You go through the Jaws house at 6:30, a lot of ambient light gets through.

Also, just speculation here, but if Bill & Ted is moved to T:2 as rumored, the Jaws house might not be as bad this year as in years past.

Coke and Wendys usually have different offers out, not sure if first weekend included or not, but I would think it is. FF is definitely the way to go if you're local. You get the first two weekend nights, then multiple other chances to see everything. It's takes the pressure off, let's you concentrate on seeing the two or three houses you need to see that night.

Sorry Metro...just want to verify...

So we are planning on doing US on the same day at HHN...so you are saying that all I need is the S&S ticket, and if I have that, I will not need a day ticket for US?

One more question...

We have in the past purchased the one week or two week unlimited pass. With the new ticket options, if we want to do one full day at US with HHN S&S, and one full day at IOA, which ticket option would be best?

Really confused with all the changes now! Thanks again!

You need to be able to get into the park prior to closing. You would need to have either an AP or day ticket. If you go to the Studios and want to stay for HHN that night, you would purchase the S & S upgrade ticket (HHN discounted ticket) and you are able to stay in the park. Put simply....To do S & S you must have:

Day ticket and HHN ticket for the same night
Annual Pass and HHN ticket for the same night

If you're planning on two full days, I would get the unlimited two day pass as before. I'm not sure of what ticket specials are out there so you might want to look around.

Gotcha. THANK YOU!

And when you're down here with me...YOU'LL FLOAT TOO!

Another excellent performance from Tim Curry! He was great as Pennywise! :thumbsup2

oh yeah! so many of King's movies don't translate well, that one was a humdinger;)...wonder if he'd ever license his charactars/works:confused:

my thought re teens @ HHN - It's designed for adults. if teens are into scary stuff & (you & they) aren't offended by possibility of running into PG-M veering to R-rated language, behavior & subject matter (lots of blood bags flowing), then it's a good fit. Otherwise, i'd suggest MNSSHP.:) My youngest DS wasn't a horror fan when we literally "drug him" with us to 1st HHN @ age 15...we turned him to the darkside:laughing:

I wonder what the AP discounted rate will be?

I see two WEDNESDAYS listed if these dates come to fruition. Is the week starting the 20th cosidered the "HELL WEEK?" Or is it the 27th? Is there a signifigance to these two days? And would these days be bad days to go? Was thinking Thursday until I saw this. No?

It's considered Hell Week (week of the 20th) because of the schools being out but you'd have to look at the school calendars to see who's off that week.

Once you get to around 9 or 10 PM, do the lines ever get shorter from that point? Like with people leaving early and maybe the last hour has shorter lines or does it stay pretty packed right up until closing?

No such luck...it gets worse the later you're there. Lots of people wait and come in after 7pm so there's no relief from the lines.

Your much better getting than earlier, as that is lighter crowds (Stay and Scream is a life saver!) :thumbsup2

No, I'm not talking about what time you show up. I mean with people leaving early, is there a point towards the end where lines get shorter and by what proportion? Or should I just leave at 10 rather than hang out?

in my experience the lines are even longer at the end of the night because everyone is trying to squeeze one last house in. Also, the crowds do not lighten up as it gets later in the evening like at MNSSHP.
