Halloween Horror Nights 2010?

My question is what to do with our family, since we WON'T be going to HHN...We will be there on October 10 & 11 to celebrate my twins 10th bday (also have a 14 yr old girl). How early will the parks close each of those days - and is there anything to do in the evening, if you aren't going to HHN? Will CityWalk be open? Suggestions? Thanks!

HHN will only be on Sunday 10th of your dates. Universal closes around 5pm for HHN, Islands of Adventure at the usual time (unless HHN is being also held there which I doubt. City Walk will be open as usual. :)

IOA usually closes at 7pm on HHN nights but the Studios closes at 5pm. If the rumors are true that both parks will be used, all bets are off. CityWalk will be open regular hours. You could check out what movies are playing and see a movie together. The theater is VERY nice!

So, HHN won't be happening on Monday the 11th, even though it's Columbus Day? What theater are you referring to?

HHN is not staged on Mondays...unless it happens to be Halloween day. The theater is located in CityWalk.

so i planned my trip and didnt remember about columbus day - so do you think it is better for us to go to HHN oct 9 and 10 or wait and go oct 14 and 15? if i hold off and go 14-15 the rooms on property are about 40 less a night but when do you think the crowds would be lighter if at all

The earlier you can go the better although...if you're going on a Friday or Saturday night, it won't make much difference. It's always slammed on the weekends go stick to either Sunday or Thursday...those are busy too but not as expensive as the weekends.

This may have been asked already so I'm sorry if this is a repeat, but when do they announce the HHN dates? We will be in Orlando from Sept. 25-Oct. 3rd.
Any chance any of those dates will be HHN? We've never been and DH and I would LOVE to try it out with some friends this year!

The website should be up sometime in June. September 24 & 25 is opening weekend so you're good for the time you're here.

with it being the XX anniversary of HHN, i am guessing that the event will start in september as metro stated.

We are planning on going Sunday Oct. 3rd. Do you think we will need the express pass?! With the exception of last year I have been every year since 2004, we even had the frequent fear pass the year before last and went every week. But I cannot remember how busy the first week gets! And has anyone heard any rumors!? I used to frequent another board around HHN time, but it is no longer up and running! Thanks in advance!!:thumbsup2

If you have the money, get the express passes. I've been the past two years and the first year we had the express passes and did all the houses. last year we did not have the passes and only did 4 houses.

If you get there early enough, you can get through with no problem (so I've heard) but it's also still daylight out...

It'll be a fun time no matter what

The first full weekend isn't too bad...the later it gets the busier it gets. I go opening night every year and it's crowded but nothing like later in the month. I would not purchase the Express Passes ahead of time due to what happened in 2008. I purchased the EP for $75.00 when I got my Frequent Fear Pass and on opening night in the S & S area, they were selling the EPs for $25.00! Never again!

I am impatiently waiting for any official words on dates and theme for this year. I have never been to HHN but DH and I swore THIS is the year. We hope September 26th is a HHN.
I want to make my plans soooo bad!

I don't think you are going to be in luck. Normally HHN opens on the last Friday of September (9/24) and is held on Saturday (9/25) but not Sunday (9/26). The next weekend is the first full weekend (Thursday-Sunday) but not opening weekend.

Do they tickets usually go on sale as soon as the dates are announced? What about the HHN Express Pass?

We are planning on Thursday the 21st and will definitely be getting the Express. I think I read that the Thursday passes are quite a bit cheaper than the weenend ones? We've never been and want to see as much as possible!

SO EXCITED!:scared1:
