Halloween Horror Nights 2010?

I don't think you are going to be in luck. Normally HHN opens on the last Friday of September (9/24) and is held on Saturday (9/25) but not Sunday (9/26). The next weekend is the first full weekend (Thursday-Sunday) but not opening weekend.

Oh dear. Well, I guess we could try for 9/25 but that's our arrival day. We could go the next Friday or Saturday before we leave on 10/3.
Ugh! I wish they would release the info. already.

They should be releasing basic information in the next few weeks. Then over the summer, the website will be slowly updated until September. It's really fun to see the updates...be patient...it's worth it.

With all the Harry hoopla I suspect HHN will be the red haired step child this year (hmmmm, maybe that's why Jack is the rumored icon).

Okay, for those of us that have never been and dont know Jack, could you elaborate. Are we talking Jack as in Jack in the box, Jack jumps over the candlestick, Jack Nicholson,Jack Frost-no wrong season, Jack Sparrow-oops wrong park, Jack the Ripper, or Jack Daniels.

Oh crud!
DH HATES clowns. He is deathly afraid of them, especially homicidal, insane, creepy ones.
I can not divulge this information to him or he won't go.
Shhhhh. It's our little secret...MUAHAHAHAHAHAH!

Glad to see this thread. I was always on hhnvault until it shut down, tried buying it from the owner but he never responded. Will be watching this closely

Yep, and he literally has red (well, orange) hair, and for some reason he is hated by many although I personally like him.

I thought he was excellent :thumbsup2

That was the theme the first year we went and we just loved it.

I wouldn`t mind seeing him make an appearance.

I would still really love it if Halloween and Michael Myers were a big part of it this year. Now THAT would scare me beyond belief.............but in a good way :cool1:

Carole...Halloween is one of my favorite movies and I too would love to see Michael Myers this year. I'm really excited about this year and can't to see what the website is going to look like!

Another excellent performance from Tim Curry! He was great as Pennywise!

So if I'm reading this correctly...Sept 30 will be the first Thursday of HHN?
We're planning on going Sept 30-Oct 3 so this will fit into our schedule just right as we wanted to save $ and avoid huge crowds.

Thanks for all the info! I can't wait to experience HHN for the first time.

Yes...9/30 should be the first Thursday night of this year's event.

We will be in Orlando Sept 25-Oct 3 so if Thursday the 30th is indeed a HHN night, that will be our day! :thumbsup2

I tried to ingest everything and put the tips in one post. I am not sure if I got everything right, but i hope this helps. Sorry if i got some things wrong - but i can always edit after feedback. :confused3

DATES

1. Dates have not yet been released, but many are guessing 09/24 and 09/25 to be opening weekend.
2. First full weekend would be 09/30, 10/01 and 10/02.

TICKETS

1. AP (Annual Pass Holders) - Buy your discounted HHN ticket. If you plan on going multiple days, buy the FF using your AP discount – but keep in mind that it is only valid on non peak nights (THU, SUN and ONE WED).

2. NO AP - Purchase your entry ticket to the park(s). At this time, you can ask to “add on” or purchase your HHN ticket. If you plan on going multiple days, buy the FF – but keep in mind that it is only valid on non peak nights (THU, SUN and ONE WED).

3. If you MUST have the EP, buy that at the same time. If you DARE to chance not having it, you can possibly wait and purchase during your S&S and hope they are offering a discount and it is still available.

4. Make SURE you are in the park before it closes (shoot for 4:30PM) and have your HHN ticket to take advantage of the S&S.

WHEN TO GO

1. If possible, avoid peak nights (FRI and SAT) and Sundays. I think this only leaves Thursdays and ONE Wednesday.

2. The earlier in the HHN season you go, typically the less it costs (first few non peak nights first three Fridays or Saturdays) and the least crowded it is. Although with the WWoHP – all bets may be off on this one. Many have noted that there the crowds are heavy anyway.

3. Opening weekend is also normally Passholder Weekend and some discounts are offered for those HHN tickets. Remember that opening weekend does not include that Sunday, so FF passes would not be valid (right?).

WHEN YOU GET THERE

1. Save the soundstage houses for last
2. Go to the Jaws HH first.
3. Get the sugar honey iced tea scared out of you.
4. Lather, rinse, repeat.

QUESTIONS

If all that is correct, does that mean that potentially, the least expensive nights for AP holders are the FRI and SAT opening weekend? And since that is also the earliest you can possibly go, does that also make it potentially the least crowded??? Or would you say the first Thursday would be?

Are there non AP discounts for that first weekend? If not, it sounds like going the first Thursday, Sunday OR the first three Fridays would be the cheapest. But you would want to opt for Thursday if you wanted to shoot for a “potential least crowded” day.

For multiple nights, it sounds like FF is the way to go if you are okay with not going on FRI or SAT.

** DISCLAIMER: past performance is not an indication of future results, especially when future results involve the WWoHP. *******
