Halloween Fantasy On The High Seas - Eastern October 24th 2015

Well we checked in last night and I see we haven't been added to the roll call. I guess since we were not a former KKer, we aren't included in this group?

I am sorry. I am the one doing this and I just haven't gotten to you yet.
Everyone is welcome.
As I am at work right now on lunch, and going back to work in a moment I probably won't get to adding you in until late tonight or tomorrow morning.

:flower3:

Hi all,
It's getting late here and it's been a busy night so I'm not updating the list until the morning, but I just wanted to say that we can change the name of our cruise group and I'll add KK3 to the end of it.
So everyone start thinking of a great title to our cruise group! :thumbsup2

Hi everyone! I'm so new to this! :) This is our 1st Disney Cruise! We did a Carnvial cruise in 2011 and conquered WDW Oct '13. Along with me (Colleen-33) will be DH35-Leland, DD9-Tara and DD5-Brynn. We can't wait!

Welcome! You'll have a great time. I can't say much about Carnival, having never been on one of their cruises, but DCL Rocks!

Welcome Colleen!

It looks like you're new to the DIS boards as well as DCL:thumbsup2

Be very careful! They're both addicting!:surfweb::boat:

It must be so much fun to sail with the little ones. Mine is grown and gone and his first DCL he was on when he was 13, so not so young.
But I really enjoy watching everyone else's children having fun on the ship and then I'm happy I can watch and enjoy and not have any responsibilities at all:)

We did Carnival once--after doing DCL, we won't go back to Carnival! And I've lost count of the number of trips we've done to Disney World and Land. No matter the age, young, middle or small, we're all children on DCL!!! They have activities for us Old Farts as well as the young tots. And I agree with others that have said, it's nice to be able to watch other children have fun and not have the responsibility. Although, I AM looking forward to seeing DCL through our grown daughters eyes and even more so through the eyes of their little ones (the oldest will be 6 and youngest 2 upon our sailing).

Hi, this is dragon1165's wife!

We are so excited to finally be booked (and not as a dummy date) on the Fantasy again! The daughters and BFFs are also excited and we've already started thinking of what we want to do with the grands and what we want to "ditch the kids" for! Not that we'll be ditching them very often--we may even spend extra grandma/pa time with the youngest so the daughters can have some "grown up" time! Can't believe it is so far away--yet it will get here MUCH too quickly! Only 500 more days to go!

Has anyone thought of doing the FE or post card exchange lists yet?

Shelly

Hi Shelly,
Wow, you're traveling with such a big group! Grandkids must be fun:grouphug:

I'm sure someone will jump in with the FE or PC exchange at some point and then I'll add that to our first page.

We probably won't be doing the FE, but perhaps and I'm unsure about
the PC exchange. Never done one. Is that just for the little ones where they get a card from Mickey or something like that?

Of course I'm sure you know about the FE (fish extender for those that have never done DCL before--there are many places on the disboards for you to find out all about what an FE group is). We enjoyed it as our "adults only" cruise when it was just DH, BFF, and I that went two years ago--can only imagine the surprises that the grands will get with it! We were originally not going to do it (since there are so many of us) but the DDs are getting excited about wanting to do it--so I guess we'll be considered IN for that.

The post card exchange is generally for those that want some sort of connection with our group but don't want to do the FE. Generally it is a post card from the person's home area (city, state, and some cases country if we get some of our out of states friends to join us) with a favorite recipe printed on the back of it. These are delivered to the staterooms, much the same as FE gifts would be (delivered into the FE pockets or clipped onto the fish outside the staterooms if not doing FE. Generally one person makes a list of all those participating (just like when someone organizes an FE group) and keeps track of all names, email addresses, cabin numbers, etc. so that they can provide a list to each participating member so the person will know in advance how many post cards to prepare before leaving home.

And for those of you that this is a first DCL cruise, be sure to check out the door decorating (magnets) that people have graciously provided downloadable files for magnets that fit around the port holes of the different characters "ears" for decorating doors--or other magnets as well. There is also a Free Graphics site on facebook for DCL cruisers (and others) to use for PERSONAL use ONLY--not for sale in anyway, but can be used to make t-shirts, stickers, magnets, and so many more imaginative things for your own group.

Hope this bit of info helps.

Yes, technically new to DIS boards, but I have done lots of reading on here, just never signed in and posted. I used the boards a bit while planning our WDW trip. I have a few friends that are veteran DCLer's and one of their tips was to find this thread. And I've heard once you go DCL, you never go back to anything else. :)

I've done the FE a few times before, but never heard of anyone doing the postcard one before. Interesting.

Decorating your doors with magnets is awesome to look at and fun to make!
I'm sure as we go on we'll share some of that with our newer cruisers.:thumbsup2

Shelly and I did Carnival in 04, and though we did have fun, we found that DCL is much more to are tastes and standards. The cruises are so much more personal than the parks, even though we still enjoy the parks. :mickeyjum

Ye, they're very useful and have other interesting threads on them that are not Disney related also.

As I've said, they're addicting!

I haven't been on in a couple of years because I had no trips planned and it makes me sad to go on then.

But now....:cool1:

My SO Bob sees me on them recently and comments about he thought I did't do that anymore and I'm not starting that up again am I? (He hates to see me spend much time with computers and their portable cousins:rolleyes1)

I told him I HAD to, now that I have a trip planned:woohoo:

So my dh Nate and I just switched our dummy date to this sailing today. :cool1:Cass told me that there were some kkers here but I didn't know what that meant lol. Now I do. I recall BOBers from trip reports and of course the Parlayers pirate: Oh and hi Janice! (We didn't have a cool name for our cruise last year) :rotfl:

So for this cruise it will be me Char, DH Nate, DS Luke-11 and DS Gabe-9. My parents will likely join us and possibly some friends that we met on a Carnival cruise in 2012 and converted to DCL fans last year :thumbsup2. I've been working on Joh (Wilmabride) but it's not looking like it will happen and I will be seeing Wendy (Runskyhy) in a few weeks and I'll work on her and Rich then ;) Looking forward to this!

Welcome aboard guys!! :sail:
It'll be great to see you guys again!popcorn::

Big plans this weekend! Dayton Disneyana Club holds a big Disney collector show & sale every year and this is the weekend! Lots of treasures to be found!:yay:

Got the notification today that our WDW trip begins 100 days from today. Seems like a long time!:headache: Hate to wish away the summer, but "Come on September!":wizard:

Lucky you:thumbsup2

I actually wanted to mention that I'm going away for about 2 weeks so I may not do any updating to our first page while I'm away.
Of course I'll try to get on while we're on vacation because otherwise I'll go
through electronic gadget withdrawal:sad2:
But I have to sneak around Bob to do so:headache::rolleyes1

So take note any new people, I'll get to adding names and stuff when I have the chance on vaca or when I return.

Welcome! We were in the KK and the BOB cruise. Also very much looking forward to this one.

Thanks Steve!

Welcome Char! I was also on the KK and the BOB cruise. Glad to have you along for this one:woohoo:

Congrats on converting more people to become DCL fans:thumbsup2
I try to do that too. Boy, the way some of us try to get newbies to go on DCL or even to WDW or DL, you'd almost think Disney should give us rewards, discounts, something?;)

Thanks Rose!

I totally think they should give us a discount OR a free cruise for every 10th person converted. Although it may seem a little cultish then :rotfl2::rotfl:

Welcome aboard guys!! :sail:
It'll be great to see you guys again!popcorn::

Thanks Dawg! It will be good to see you and Robin again.
