...we're trying to get the kids to sleep now. It's actually early for them and it's 10:44 right now! Yeah we run a pretty crazy schedule with no early morning schedule

Capt....if your daughter is going to be starting Kindergarten in the fall, you may want to start her on an earlier bedtime ritual this summer. Kylie's teacher is very vocal about parents getting the kids (her students) to bed by 8pm. Kylie's bedtime is actually 8:30pm, but she gets all of the rest she needs, and is bright-eyed and bushy-tailed in the morning. But you can definitely tell which kids don't get a good night's rest, and they are just not focused in school.

Kristin, Thanks for asking about the kids. Yes, they are doing well. Luckily, we've been pretty healthy here lately. I hope our streak continues. How are the girls?

I noticed the DCL special on The Travel Channel is airing at 7pm here tonight, so I was going to "casually" turn that on for the kids to watch. I think it'll really get them asking to go on a cruise!

Buck,
Glad to hear the kids are well...Did you watch any of the DCL cruise special I have it taped if anyone wants it...Was very interesting....
I soo agree about the bed time thing...Since when I was teaching first grade it was terrible to see the kids who were up late etc...We always advised the parents of early bed time...
Hoping mine stay that way healthy today was the first day back at school..Two weeks it had been....

QUESTION::What is the craziest or funniest thing your kids have said to you???

QUESTION::What is the craziest or funniest thing your kids have said to you???

There are so many to choose from, but this is one of my favorites.

My then 4-year-old son, Aidan, was singing in Spanish the Happy Birthday song from Dora the Explorer when my husband came home from work one night. Aidan kept singing "Beliz" instead of "Feliz." Now my husband, who fancies himself quite good at Spanish because of the classes he took in high school, felt that it was a teachable moment.

Greg tried telling Aidan that the word was pronounced "Feliz," but Aidan was not buying it. The lesson turned into a battle of wills, with both insisting that they were pronouncing it correctly.

Finally, my husband, trying to be smart, says, "So Aidan, have you been speaking Spanish long?"

Without missing a beat, Aidan replied, "SI!"

Needless to say that was the end of that Spanish lesson for the evening. :thumbsup2

Well...

Yeah... I kno... our P-school teachers tell me this same thing all the time... BUT our local K-school has 2 sessions (AM/ and late AM)... so I requested late AM and may get another year before I have to change my routine to follow the kids in the morning.

I was just being lazy because for most of my life outside of school I never had to wake up early very often... we're a little unconventional in some ways... and otherwise I think we're just like anyone else for the most part.

SO... today I'll get the preg-O story out of my spouse so I can respond...

I'm a nut to work at this so doggedly, eh? WEll... if I don't get it today then I'll just skip and pick up on the next question IF I can answer! :goodvibes

That is a funny story..Keep them coming about the kids and things they say this could get intersting!!!

Kristin.........Tell them your recent ( a month or 2 ago?) Olive Garden story :rotfl2:

Ginger and Luvs...Thanks. I don't think I'll go to any Casino's in October. We are in port for such a short time and I am such a beach girl I would never take gambling over the sun and ocean!! Teri, have you been to The Atlantis recently? They are really pushing the time share. We almost bought right there on the spot. When they first built the condos 4 years ago they were going for 14/15 K they have more than doubled in that time. They claim they are throwing a billion dollars into the Atlantis in the next 3 years and that there will be a monorail system like at Disney. It really is an amazing vacation. We took them up on a great offer to come next year and stay in the condos (so pretty, all pinks and blue and green caribbean colors and beautiful inside) paying for the rest of this year 150.00 a month to stay 6 nights 7 days and being able to use all that money toward a down payment if we decide to buy next year. It is a kids paradise with the water slides, aquarium and something like 11 pools!! I can't wait for the kids to see it.

Jen,
I've heard from several sources that The Atlantis is a great place to vaca. Sounds wonderful!

Princess Olivia- We have visited Atlantis 3 times since 1999 just for the day while on a cruise with the most recent being last year. We have also booked a day room at Atlantis once so we could use the slides and pools. We loved being able to shower before heading back to the Ship. We plan to vacation there for 3 or 4 days next year. I still can't get over the JACKPOT that you hit. That is sooooo Great!!! :yay:

captaincrash- I finally got a chance to look at all 200 photos of your recent cruise. I would advise against looking while hungry, the food picture's had me drooling  You have a lovely family. Thanks for sharing your picture's.

akghutton- Your Kids funniest saying was very funny. It is amazing how Kid's can outsmart the grownups.

Hope everyone had a great day!!!! :)

Terri...

Now you've got ME getting hungry with a grumbly tummy. I just got in from taking one girl to gymnastics and I've got a little while before I run out to meet with some church friends for a little while. Yeah... the pix were weighted for food because the series began as a response to a cruise critic question asking what sort of lobster tails were served on the Carnival ships. And I ended up learning a little about lobster tail varieties and their preparation. THEN.... my labum snowballed into a general cruise photo diary.

SO... akghutton, your story about the Spanish dispute was hilarious in a muy loco kind of way! :lmao:

Gotta goo git some vittles otherwise I might colapse from low blood sugar in short order...

TTFN!

......, my question is: If you have children, tell a story about your pregnancy or the birth of your children.

I really like this game. We are getting to know a lot about each other!

Hello everyone... this is Mrs. Captain Crash ::MinnieMo (Alicia) typing now.... my answer to the question above is about the birth of my first child. My shower was on Saturday at 36.5 weeks. I felt very tired after the party but my husband convinced me to go to dinner with friends. That night at 2:00 am I felt a trickle and I thought my water had broken. So I started calling for Tom. The dog went and woke him up since he sleeps like a log being cut by a chainsaw. Then we started reading books describing what water breaking would be like... and we called by brother in Boston to ask him about it since he was an internist... and we suggested that we probably had broken our water and we should call our OB. All the while I was sadly saying.... "thiis can't be happening now" as I just had my shower and was about to begin my maternity leave...the baby room was not made up and there was still so much to do BEFORE the baby got here. So... Our OB said go on in and he would call ahead so the hospital would expect us. I gave birth about 7 hours later with no epidural... the day after my baby shower! At the time we had not agreed on a NAME yet for our daughter!

And for a question... (Mr Captain Crash typing here)... It seems akghutton answered the last Q but did not post a new Q... so I'll pose another one if there are no stern objections....

.... So... Who are YOUR TOP 3 favorite Disney Villans? And please cite a comment on each as to what about them qualifies the character as a "favorite villan" for you!

Hello All!

Back from the lake... had a beautiful time. It was a bit cool out on the boat, but the fishing was great.

Caught up on all the post, I have a funny kid story to share...

My then-six year old was having a bad day and had been sent to her room too many times to count one day. The last visit did her in and she informed me she was running away. Being the sympathetic mother I am, I told her to tell me if she need help packing her things! ;) She went to her room... and I began hearing doors slam and drawers opening and closing. All I can here is her yelling..... "WHERES MY SHOES" "I CANNOT FIND MY SHIRT" .....I told her it was up to her to find those things. After a few more minutes of yelling and searching... I hear her coming down the hall... she walked right up to me and stated matter-of-factly... "Maybe this would be easier if YOU left mom."

It was all I could do not to fall on the floor laughing. She was sooo serious!
Anyway--- thats my cute kid story.

Now for my amazing kid story. My 9 year old was playing down by the trout stream this week at the lake. I turned my back for a few moments and then I hear her hollering for me. I turn around and she is running towards me holding something to her chest in her hands... as she gets closer I notice it is a TROUT! The little thing reached in the stream and pulled a trout out with her bare hands!!!!! I informed her most people have to use fishing poles! IT was quite amazing.

Anyway, I will quit rambling! Hope you all had a great week!!

Now to go do all the laundry and clean the house!

akghutton & wndrmite....I got such a chuckle out of both of your funny kid stories.

Wndrmite, your story reminds me of a similar situation I had with dd, Kylie. She was mad at me because I had said "no" to her for some reason. She said I was so mean she wished she lived somewhere else. So, I responded by telling her I could look in the phone book to she if there was another family that would let her live with them. She quickly replied "No, I'm not going there! I don't even know if they have cable!"

Here's one about my ds, Drew, from several years ago. I think he was around 3 years old at the time.....We were saying prayers before bed one night, and he asked if we could "email God at www.God.com?" Obviously, he's been computer saavy since a very young age. Truth be told, at age 10 now, he has to help ME figure things out on the computer! Sad, but true....

oh my gosh all of your stories make me laugh soo hard.....

I have to tell you what happened to me yesterday...We were running late to get the kids to school yesterday and they were upstairs and said, "Mom were coming and we have a surprise for you." I yelled back, "Come on down and go to school when I return from dropping you off I will go upstairs and look at it." I drop them off and go upstairs to their room to change their sheets off the beds...The door is shut I try the handle locked and look at all of the other bedrooms all four are shut and locked the bonus room as well and the bathrooms too...I have to call Bruce at work hysterical and he tells me that the builder left this key thing for me to use when we built the house..Now when we built the house no kids so we never really kept track of the key after much hunting I locate it..
When I picked them up from school and told them I found their surprise they were both laughing soooo hard...

Happy St. Patricks Day. may the luck of the Irish smile upon you. :shamrock: :shamrock: :shamrock: :shamrock: :shamrock: :shamrock: :shamrock: :shamrock: :shamrock: :shamrock: :shamrock: :shamrock: :shamrock: :shamrock:

The things kids do! What more can you do but love them! How they change your life! I really have enjoyed all your stories!

Happy St. Patricks Day to everyone as well!

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY to you too, Teri....and to all!

Buck, glad that you knew what I was talking...
Happy st. patty's day to all of you...

So K...

... what was the surprise? Was it just the locked doors? Or are you waiting to build a little suspense?

Plus, we have not had a response on the last Q... "... Who are YOUR TOP 3 favorite Disney Villans? And please cite a comment on each as to what about them qualifies the character as a "favorite villan" for you!

And Luvs2talk.... I imagine the 200 photos would take a while to go through... that's wy I encourage folks to try the slide show option to save a lot of button tapping to look at the bigger images one at a time. At any rate, we're glad you cracked a smile over them.

And.... HAPPY St Patricks Day to everyone. I gotta go find some corbed beef and cabbage now! :shamrock:

O.k. Crash...........I'm so not a games girl but you made me bite with this one. My 3 top Disney Villains ( in random order :teeth: )

1. Cruella Deville. Who else could look as marvelous in black and white or drives a better car?!

2.The Evil Queen from Snow White. I envy her talking mirror and one time when I was at Disney my boyfriend at the time claimed she was checking him out and then during the parade the (witch ;) ) POINTED at him from her air conditioned bubble and said "I see you". Ballsy babe. I bought her pajamas that night and still where them!!

3.Gaston. Craig knows every word to his song and it makes us laugh. Craig lifts weights and we crack up when he says he's "nearly as big as a barge..." .
I guess his stupidity next to Belle's intelligence just makes me think of some of my old college boyfriends so he's almost endearing  .

There you have it.

There you have it.

THAT'S GREAT PRINCESS!

However ... now that we've gotten an answer from you in the game (thank you! :thumbsup2 ) ... it's also your turn to whip up a question. :confused3 It can be ANY question that you dream up... if we do not get a question from ya by 10PM California time I'll post one for you (if no one else hasn't done so yet)... and after that I'll mostly be off line this weekend as I have a bible study tonight and my daughter's BD party, followed by entertaining guests in the evening... then Disneyland on Sunday and Monday. So I might pop in once or twice on the weekend... so I imagine everyone should be happy to see each page on the thread with several postings as opposed to a few pages with my usual wind-bag novella replies hogging up acerage.

Well... maybe I'll slip in a question NOW .. just in case Princess doesn't get around to posting one of her own... and seeing that I gotta run some errands soon this seems convenient... :tink:

OPTIONAL QUESTON... IF you were to get the Magic (or Wonder) to sail anywhere in the world for 15 days... where would you make it sail? AND for kicks you could occupy the Walt Suite and an adjoining cabin with up to 7 guests for free and hang out on the bridge as often as you like to ensure your orders are being carried out! I.E. select embarkation port, and destinations for days 2-14 with return port. Creative commentary on a few of your designated ports is expected.

Yeah... for example I might say... I would have the Magic chase the Carnival Glory and sail rings around it provided it is not in a Florida port... as if it were in an island port we could just circle the island. And as I did this I would have the Magic pass close to the Glory every other hour and either toot the horn or fire off some fireworks! Think of it as the Magic stalking the Glory... for laughs. pirate: Arrr ARGH Arrrr ... it's my pirate blood at work here pirate: ya' kno!

BTW... some of my favorite villans include....(in no particular order)

Captain Jack Sparrow... is he a villan? Well ... yes and no, eh?
Captain Gantu.... I love space villans... (a captain no less)
and, of course.... Captain Hook... as he's such an entertaining villian IMHO (another captain).

Then again... there ARE so many fun Disney villans out there, eh?

:lmao:

Cheers....
