I feel the need to interject here. Kritter wasn't the only one unclear on AWOL's intentions. I think it would have made more sense to everyone if he had mentioned that he was compiling our personal information for a master list.
It's only February. It was unexpected of anyone to jump on this so soon. I'm still not sure who else will be joining us on this cruise and I certainly don't know when we are arriving at port.

I am comfortable with Kritter posting our information on the first page. It's easily accessible and she already has it there (good job by the way). I'm sure AWOL's intentions are pure, however I'm not in favor of any new links or threads. Since Kritter is the "mother" of sorts here, creating this site, I think we should support her and her efforts. It would be great if Kritter missed something that AWOL caught and can help her update it. I know it's hard work to go through everyones posts and even more so to keep it up. I'm sure Kritter would appreciate the help from someone as organized as AWOL.

Oh why clean it will just get dirty again..Right????

Well, that has been my motto for several weeks now..........and between meets and errands..............I haven't cleaned, um............for a while.

When the dust bunnies are bigger than the dog, it's time to at least run a vacuum.

No meets this weekend. Feb. 11th is our next one.

Now I feel the need to interject here. Since poor AWOL isn't even around to defend his integrity, I'll do it for him.

I wasn't insinuating that he should take over. It is in his nature to get a feel for who is who. Many of you have been here for a long while & have been able to keep track of and learn about each other through dialog. Others of us, just jumped in a bit ago and it is hard to keep track of each of you. So, for us, we try to make lists of who is who so taht we can make educated comments based on old conversations and so that we can know who's sailing party is like ours, etc.

I also never said that he needed to post a new thread. I mentioned a link so that if Kritter didn't want to keep up the list, she could simply edit her original post to feature a link that AWOL could keep updated. I certainly wasn't meaning to step on anyone's toes. All I was trying to do was help out someone by saying that AWOL had been compiling a list and that I'm sure he would share it when he got back. I know it took him a long time to go though everything & try to determine who was who. Since Kritter seems to be really busy in her life right now, I merely offered some help.

Wow they really do not give her many weekends off in between meets do they?? which in turn means not much time for you...
Well teach the dog how to run the vacuum and you will be all set...
Today when I went to pick Hope up at my moms house she was vacuuming...that is a first..asked my mom what sparked that and she said that she wanted to clean for her...I asked Hope you going to clean at home no way she said that is what you are for..Love kids..I guess my lot in life is cleaning up after everyone... :confused3 :confused3

Ok must be off need to decorate bowling pins with ponies on them tonight. for pony bowling...I am crazy I know..Dh is nuts too...tonight he came home all excited that he was in the store getting some more meds ...for Hanna and said I saw that they have pony cakes now...Which I went nuts looking for before and could not find...He says I ordered one...All proud of himself...I as the compulisive planner remind him of the five boxes of cake mix that I have for making pony cupcakes he says oh only make three then...???Oh well we will have a ton of cake...

Update on Hanna they told me to give her this new cough med...I will have to get the name for you all...gave it to her..had a reaction and she went mental...I mean when I got back to my moms house from gorcery shopping...she was all crazy bouncing off of the wall literally....her eyes were bulging out of her head..hands shaking, etc....called the number on the bottle they said oh that is a reaction to the meds....great....called the dr. he says do not give her anymore she will come off the "high" in about six hours.....she finally did and boy she crashed hard tonight..poor thing.....can you believe that from cough meds......?????

Any one see survivor?? Boy it is good...smart move voting that women off tonight...she was so strong that good thing to get rid of her early on....

Jen hope all went well with you and the funeral...Hoping that your speach went well today....

Maybe I was a bit to over organized for everyone in compiling the list..sorry to have caused any problems...Guess I should have read the posts more carefully.....think I will slow down and take some time off and be more careful...

Got to run the ponies are calling me.... :cheer2:
Kristin

Kritter - No need to take time off. We all appreciate you pulling it all together. I just thought I could save you quite a bit of time since I know you schedule is as crazy as the rest of us.

Happy party day!

Kitter....

.... NOW where do you think you're going? Come back here <please> and lets all just sit back and take a deep breath and.... R-E-L-A-X.

:rotfl2:

Having browsed through the last few threads... it's no big deal. I think it's been wonderful to have so many cheerful and saintly souls to swap a banter with here. :lmao: OK... maybe a few of us are also a bit psychotic too (myself volunteered into that short list) ... but if it's just the same... we will eventually have use of a cruise meet list of those interested in volunteering some basic info for mutual reference.

On the last cruise we had a list on line - and I had NEED of the reference but had to down load it while at sea... and boy oh boy was it useful. I had to distribute the award certificates after the Captain of the Magic signed them - and so I ran a circuit on the last nite to get the ice cream challenge participants their certificates. Plus we had minor logistical notes to swap here and there.

So... as for who does what and when... I would agree that it might seem early but the crowd here may be a bit larger than my last sailing. And might I add that anyone submitting info need not submit everything that might be requested. IE, I might stop short of my SS#, DOB, and bank account and charge card numbers. LOL!

While we're on this - might I suggest that eventually we might make good use of ID tags for the eventual cruise meet. Something with our screen identities + real names in smaller print + possibily a home town. I recall some of us (not I) wore the cruise meet ID tags for the ENTIRE CRUISE. And they said it was great for meeting folks that were NOT from the cruise meet and just striking up an exchange. In retrospect I plan on doing the same for the next cruise since I'm pretty open minded about meeting folks. PLUS, I remember some of the crew and cast members asking me about my ID tag just before and after the meet activities and I enjoied describing our group and it's enthusiastic side events. I think it elevated us just a notch from oddly psychotic to just being viewed as mildly psychotic.

Anyways... we have plenty of time to propose the name tag thing and see who would like to volunteer - or if the job is too big... maybe we can get two parties to share the job.

Oh - and for a change of topic - I replaced the water heater with a FREE ONE provided under warrenty. But the tech people at the GE tech support line were extremely evasive and reluctant to approve my replacement. In fact - the local plumbing folks were counseling me NOT to expect anything from GE because of the reputation they had. I persisted though and it seems I am OK now. Except I did not seen the credit appear yet on my online statement.

SO... lets just settle down and git back to havin' fun here. :thumbsup2

Crash, I'm all about fun!!

Choc marg- Fantastic. I think it's wonderful for AWOL to be able to help out Kristin. Please don't feel like I was attacking AWOL's integrity. I don't know anyone here well enough to be able to hurt their integrity. However, that is how you felt so please accept my apology.

Kristin, I think you should wait until AWOL returns and you can collaborate your information. You are already doing the Trick or Treating (which I think we are in port that day so it may be difficult to navigate everyone's schedules). It might be too much to have to do both. I know your crazy schedule but I also know you can't sit still so do what will make you the most comfortable. Good luck today at the party. I'll give you a call later.

Kristin,
I did watch Survivor last night, and it is going to be a great season! So glad that show is back.....I was going through withdrawl on Thursday nights. I love the whole 4 tribes and exile island twist. Although, I think I would have kept Tina and voted off Cirie. Tina was a strong player, true, but they are going to need that kind of strength to stay OUT of tribal council. So, it'll be interesting to see how they fare now that she is gone.

I'm taking Kylie out to dinner and a show tonight. We're having a mommy/daughter night. We are going downtown to eat, and then we'll see the Disney on Ice Princess Classics show. princess: Dh and ds are going to a Chinese restaurant, Drew's favorite, and possibly swimming at the rec center. Should be a fun night!

Sounds like a really fun night. Where are you and Kylie going to dinner? Is she a good eater? Cameron is going to be 8 and only weighs 45lbs. He loves fruits and vegetables but takes forever to eat anything and then complains that his stomach hurts! Cameron has my looks and body all the way. Olivia won't eat her vegetables but will ALWAYS clear her plate. She has a good appetite but has an adorable shape. She is built sturdy, more like Craig. I'm sure it's from all the dancing. Competitions start next month. She can't wait.

Have a good time tonight and let us know how it was.

Ok could not stay away...it is my compulision with being organized so I am sorry...

Deanna,

Yes I can see why they should have not voted her out..But in the long run it may help or may hurt them...She seemed to be having a hard time with the death of her son and all...She was nice...I hear you it not being on was making me sick since there was nothing on Thurs, nights...I also thought that Jeff was not going to host it this time?? he was on regis and kelly the other day and he was talking about having kids and they were teasing him that he is not even married to Julie yet....

I love the idea of the island..But really how many times and they send someone to the island the tribes are so small that they will soon be down to two or three each in no time...Terry the pilot is from simsbury ct.. That is the town that my Dh grew up in...So that is so cool..... I hope that he goes far....

Please let me know about the show andhow it was...Hoping the party goes well......
Kristin

Hi Kritter!

Thanks so much for including us in your post at the beginning... just want to clear up our traveling party... :grouphug:

I am single and travelling with my daughters 8 and 9.

We are going with my brother and his wife who have 10 and 11 year old daughters...

Thanks!

And we are arriving the morning of sail-away! :moped: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Hi all I watched Survivor last night too, that is my favorite show. They are holding auditions in Hilton Head next week wich is 2 hours from me. My Brother-In Law said he was going to try out. I know he was joking beacause he is a very picky eater and would be gone as soon as he got too hungry.

Kristin- Hope your daughter's birthday party goes well, it sounds like it is going to be fabulous!!

captaincrash- The ID name tags sounds like a great idea.

buckifan- Youe Mommy/Daughter date sounds like fun, hope you both have a great time.

I thought this was funny, because I keep a list with me of who is who. That way whether I am at work or at home I can figure out who I am talking to. It wasn't until I wrote it all down that I figured out who was married to who.

Kristen..thanks for putting the list up front, that is a easy place to find it.

Well it is Friday (Mexican Night) and it is Super Bowl weekend so if anyone wants to come to Tampa I'll buy the drinks. Rumor has it that tchrmom is cleaning the house so it is a good weekend to come. :stir: Frozen Margeritas tonight and then some Crown Royal and Coke.

Dave :surfweb:

Oh, my goodness, I didn't list our names! Here they are, Kristin:

I am sjcubedofct, my name is Sherry, my DH is Scott, and our DS is Steven (hence, the sjcubed!). My DMIL is Leah.

Have a great weekend, everyone! I'm hoping to spend part of it reading the first 58 pages of this thread!!!

OK... we'll look forward to catchin' up with ya sjcubedofct in ..... March!!! :lmao:

Well... maybe then again you might be one of those Evelyn Wood speed reading graduates? Anyone remember THAT outfit? :confused3 I vaguely recall having some sort of kit and being coached by someone on the skimming technique. I remember thinking that this method sort of defeats the purpose of fully absorbing the literature and concepts...

Anyways... so much for rapidly drifting off topic...

SO has anyone noticed our poll count is up to 45.... Wooo hoo! By way of comparison.... my CRUISE Critic Cruise Meet Thread for next weekends' valentines' Spirit sailing (Feb 12th) has a whopping 7 voters, 51 postings and 645 hits! Yeah..... that's all I got with a week ta go. :sad2: An' we have what ... 9 months ahead of us here on the DIS and we're at 45 voters, 875 postings and 7,166 hits. Yeah... Carnival is DEAD when it comes to loyal enthusiasts who surf enthusiast forums ... or so it seems to me. Anyways, it should be a tolerable experience (we hope).

So... gotta run... I'm cookin' a pasta contribution for an evening gathering we have with friends. I gotta git my pasta before it's overcooked!

TTFN! pirate:

PS.... don't you just love these wild new "emotion" characters they've loaded? ....
:woohoo: :surfweb: pixiedust: :sail: :jumping2: :dumbo: :goofy: :tigger: :tink: :fish: :yay: :lmao: :thumbsup2 :furious: :flower3: :coffee: :jester: :drinking:

Morning Everyone,
Went to the Disney on Ice Princess Classics show last night and it was loads of fun. We started off by going to dinner at Buca de Beppo. Then to the arena which is right next to the restaurant. Beautiful night to walk around last night!! We had great seats, very close to the ice. The first half of the show was musical numbers and small scenes from many different movies.........Aladin, Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid, Mulan, Beauty and the Beast, & Snow White. Mickey, Minnie & Goofy made appearances as well. The second half was all about Cinderella, and then all of the princesses along with their princes came out for the finale (all in what looked like wedding atire) Mickey and Minnie were all in white also. At the end, the characters skate around the edge to shake hands with some kids, and Kylie got to shake Prince Charming's hand. Of course, they had lots of "firworks". It was a very flashy, extravagant show.....which Kylie just loved! She is going to go nuts over the shows on the ship.

Off to get ready for our morning activites....Kylie has skating 8:30-10 and then basketball 10-11. We have to take her off of the ice a few minutes early, then race over to the rec center (luckily right next to the ice house). Hope everyone has a nice weekend!

Sounds like a perfect night..It gave me chills wish it would come to CT so the twins could see it.....
Hope you have a great rest of your weekend....
kristin

Rumor has it that tchrmom is cleaning the house so it is a good weekend to come.

Well, it appears the rumor was true. I guess the Health Dept. won't have to come and close us down after all! :bounce:

The mexican and frozen margaritas were yummy! It was a "grown ups only" night........Steven wasn't happy, but it sure was fun! :thumbsup2

Don't want to mess up the clean kitchen..........so we've ordered out for wings. (Can anyone tell we love to eat out?) :confused3
