Yo... ho-ho,

... and a hardy welcome aboard to ya' Maryann and yer merry LUVTOGO pirate band! We're lookin' forward ta seein' ya on this venture! pirate:

OK, maybe my attempt at soundin' like a pirate is falling a little flat - I guess it's not the best nite for me to be getting into "character". But if it's just the same ta ya, ... here's a warm welcome aboard greetin' :ccat: to your family on returning back down the rabbit hole to the Magic!!! Of course, you're a returning DCL fan... and it seems you're sailing in a similar pattern as my spouse and I... as we really enjoy the Eastern route and schedule. We will be doing our 4th eastern booking come october. Except, our 7 nite eastern booking two years ago was changed to a 4 nite Western at the last minute by hurricane Francis.

Add to that ... the fact we are thinking along the same lines since we're also booked into a catagory 9 window. May I ask if you booked the larger single window deck? I would like to suggest you ensure you consider the bigger window if you have not sailed this catagory before. Getting two smaller windows seems less desirable unless you like having a shorter walk to exit the ship when docked! OR... you like the reduced rolling motion with a lower deck! LOL!

Yeah, we can't say our usual cabin is a veranda... as we actually were a little afraid of a veranda since our kids are small and love to climb on everything. You have heard about the Irish girl who fell off the ship recently? Admittedly, she was supposedly drunk and leaning over the cabin balcony to throw up... an unlikely event for really young kids... but if you have a window that does not open then there is absolutely no chance of our kids falling off the ship from our cabin!

HOWEVER.... we did accept a free upgrade 2 years ago from the catagory 9 to a :tink: catagory 6 veranda! Yeah,.... if it's free then we will take it. pirate:

And on another note... congrats to Kritter on achieving your 1,000th posting with the 2nd posting preceeding this one! You're a true nut, in a good hearted DIS kind of way!!! LOL!!!!
:disrocks:
TTFN! :lmao:

I was telling Dh about your dilemma about Trunk Bay...He says go for it...But wanted to know if your kids were good swimmers...If they are he says well worth it go for it...SInce they have great snorkeling...

Thanks for the additional information. Unfortunately, our kids are not the best swimmers, so we will have to take that into consideration.

Hope everyone had a great weekend. We were at Disneys Wide World of Sports on Friday for Kelly's meet. Our first time there. It is a very nice facility. Went to Whispering Canyon for dinner Friday. We spent Saturday at Epcot then went over to Magic Kingdom for dinner with Diser's that are on our May cruise. We ate at Tony's on Main Street...very nice meal. Nice weekend over all.

Talk to you later

Dave

The thing that got me about Trunk Bay was a quote in this post:

It's duration is listed as 4- 4.5hr. I remembered that the crew member on the Leylon Sneed told us we have 90 minutes on Trunk Bay. So figuring from that, the travel time is 2.5 to 3 hours.

That's twice as much time traveling as on the beach! But the pictures in that thread are pretty cool! And I didn't see anybody that had been there complaining about the travel time vs. beach time.

Goofy do not think the ride over there is that long..will call our frined who lives in VI wondering if they make another stop along the way....

Dave,
Sounds like you had a great weekend...Sounds like wide world of sports is neat as well... i have never been there either...where did you guys stay this time????
So happy made my reservations for SSR today on line hopefully it will go through ok never done it on line before...So we will be staying there before the cruise....

Did that snow melt yet? I really don't miss my snow shovel, especially at this time of year! 70 degrees is not too hard to live with!

Looking forward to hearing what you find out about Trunk Bay. I don't know why I didn't think of looking in the passporter earlier. I will when I remember where my DW put it.

Gotta love these new smiles :surfweb:

We are also going on this cruise. 1st time in Disney and first time for kids. They will be 8 and 9 when we leave. We are going with my brother and his family... his daughters will be 10 and 11. We would love to meet others!!

I just found another link, where is say the Trunk Bay excursion is 5 hours, it says enjoy 1 to 1.5 hours relaxing. It also says the ferry ride is 45 minutes, so the drive must take a while. I don't even think 1 to 1.5 hours is long enough for me to get sunburned.

Welcome aboard WNDRMITE! We will be sailing with two girls, ages 5 and 7. Do you have boys or girls? I am sure my kids will have costumes, but I am not sure about my DW and myself

I have 2 daughters. We will be traveling with 8, 9 , 10 and 11 year old girls! We are so excited. My youngest daughter is a Tinkerbell freak!!! Does anyone know if Tink shows up on board? I am soooo excited!

Welcome to Maryann and wndrmite

It will be myself, DW (tchrmom) :teacher: DS 14 and DD 11. Pretty safe in saying no costumes for us.

I hesitate posting because I keep getting the server is busy :badpc:

Kristen....we stayed at All Star Music this time. I booked the new Sheraton for the night before the May cruise and am thinking about the same hotel for October. Although we are only 2 1/2 hours away we like to drive over on Friday and start vacation early.

Kristen...congrats on your 1000th post. That is a lot of yapping :rotfl2:

Guess I will get back to work :surfweb:

When we went to trunk bay we did not go on the ferry we went on a small boat like a speed boat...maybe that is whey it took us less time...
