DH and I are taking my sister and her two kids, ages 5 and 7, to Disney Oct. 28-Nov. 4. Since we'll be there for Halloween, I am debating buying tickets to the MNSSHP for the 30th. I want the kids to have a chance to trick or treat and dress up, but I have some reservations also, namely:
We took them to MVMCP last year and my niece slept through the entire thing. They usually go to bed between 7 and 8 PM, so it was too late for her. I'm not at all sure this would change this year. (My nephew, on the other hand, did enjoy the parade and fireworks).
I went to MNSSHP with DH and some friends back in '02 and remember the lines for both rides and candy being very long, and this was earlier in the season. I'm guessing the party on the 30th will sell out.
I want them to have a fun Halloween experience, and I am not aware of anything else happening that would be age-appropriate in the Orlando area. Does anyone know of any day or early evening activities for visiting children on Halloween? Obviously we will not be taking them into a neighborhood to go trick or treating. (Can you imagine how much candy the poor Orlando residents would have to buy if people visting did that?)
I might just go ahead and buy the tickets and hope for the best. FYI, I asked for her input, and Dsis is leaving this decision up to me. Thank you!
