Halloween 2007. The Spiderhouse!

Very creeepy. The web wrapped around the tree looks especially cool. Pretty sure my boys would have nightmares about your house though!!

Thank you. I thought the same but the kids just love it. I've never had so many kids and teens want to talk about decorating the house, Halloween and spiders. There was only one who was a bit scared and he was very young, not even 2. His folks were taking him around just showing him the neighborhood, no candy taking and wanted to say hello. They jog by every morning and wanted to meet the wacko who lived here. :rolleyes1 Very nice folks.

Just saw this cause of the link in your post in the christmas decoration thread...

I know something you should add for next year, my mom figured out how to do it when I was about 4 and it'll put some extra excitement into your decorations.
Using fishing line and screw eyes you can make a spider go up and down with your door opening/closing.
Attach fishing line to your door knob and run it up to the top of your door, tape it straight up from the knob so it doesn't go anywhere. use screw eyes to route the fishing line up to the bottom of the roof over your porch. for best results put the screw eye in the ceiling above your doorbell. hang a spider from the fishing line so that when the door is closed it hangs level with the doorknob, so kids have to reach behind it.
When you open the door, the fishing line is pulled and the spider will go up. Some find it scary, some find it amusing, others are just mystified how the spider moved... you'll open the door to a bunch of kids staring straight up :p
It's really simple and cheap to do and isn't as corny as other "fancy" halloween decorations you can buy. And it's a lot of fun to see everyone's reactions :)

An excellent idea. I'll try and use that next year. Thanks!

That was great decorating on your part with all those scary spiders.
Thanks for sharing those pictures. We have a 8" spider and that's all by our front door. Most of the kids here said, "cool spider".

Wow. Unbelievably cool. Good job!

I love it!

Did you buy the web or make it yourself?
