Yes they are cute little pins and very tradeble. The cast members realy like them because they are different than they are used to getting. So if you are thinking of going to WDW get some to take along. I have heard that when they are gone of the racks at Hallmark that is all they are going to have.

the Mickey Minnie pair is number 764 on Pinpics and the pooh and piglet set are numbers 1136 and 1137 respectively....

They came out in Feb. of 2000 for Valentines Day I think...= )

I have been trading these pins for quite awhile at WDW, & CMS seem to like having them. I traded last month with three CM "suits" in the Star Tours shop, & you would have thought I just traded them something really exciting. I'm always glad to read WDW is still trading these pins. In my area I can still find them in non-corporate Hallmark Stores. According to a manager in a corporate store the pins have not been available to them since around the first of the year.

Also, did your Hallamrk stores have the other Pooh & Piglet cloissone (?sp) pins? They are square or rectangular. They are similar to the ones Hallmark had on sale after Christmas last year. I opened one up & they DO have a Disney copyright on the back. I didn't buy any, so I do not remember how much they cost.

Hopefully Lauri - MEANLAureen - will read these posts & jump in to clarify things for us!

Well here is MeanLaureen jumping in... :)

There are only 2 different sets of Disney Pin Pairs.. the Pooh set and the brass tone Mickey set. These pins ARE discontinued. They are not being produced anymore and are only available until the supply in the warehouse is gone. (I have to wonder when that will happen.. I have heard that they were "just about gone" from the warehouse for a few months now! )

Judith is right.. Corporate Hallmark stores will more than likely not have any of these pins unless they have had them left over from a long time ago. I am a manager of a corporate store and we haven't actively carried Pin Pairs since they announced they were being phased out.. so about a year. You can ask the manager of an independant Hallmark if they would be willing to order these pins for you, but be prepared to buy it in wholesale quantities (6 sets in).

I have to ask for clarification on the DL trading policy. I don't know why the Pooh/Piglet pins wouldn't be tradeable. They are enamel (or synthetic enamel), metal based and have the Disney copyright on the back. I can understand how the Mickey and Minnie wouldn't trade because they are Brass Tone. Anyone know anything about the tradability of the Pooh and Piglet pins?

I thought the classic pooh pairs were the ones discontinued.....the ones I got are on squares...Pooh with flowers very brightley colored...guess I was wrong thinking they were new. Maybe I will go buy the last couple sets they have for August......

I was at DL recently and they wouldn't take enamel pins. CMs said they had to be cloissonne (and wouldn't trade for anything else).

Meanie DL made a new policy about 3 months ago that they would only trade cloisenne pins...I believe they did this because they were getting quite a few junk pins from Japan. When i was there in Feb. if you didn't catch the CMs first thing in the morning forget trading really for the rest of the day because by mid day they had all japan pins on their lanyards...very cheap...

The only way they could think to change that was to say cloisenne only since that is all DL produces...

Cindy, the pins you are describing - square shape - are new at my local Hallmark stores. I just saw them for the first time last week. I bet they'll be good CM traders at WDW. Try it!

From the Disneyland Pin Trading Etiquette guide my DMIL got 2 months ago:
"The general rule on what constitutes a tradable pin is that it is a cloisonne, semi-cloisonne or hard-enamel metal Disney pin, or an acceptable operating participant pin, that represents a specific Disney event, place or location, character or icon."

WDW's guide reads pretty much the same, but only says "that it is a metal Disney pin".

Aren't those Pooh pins enamel?

Thanks for the tip. I went to my local hallmark store tonight and picked up the only 3 sets of the pooh pins for my grandson to trade on our next trip. I'll keep my eyes open at other hallmark stores now. At that price, I couldn't resist.

One of the Hallmark stores here had them 25% off. They were down to the last 6 sets though.
