:scratchin There may be the possibility of the cast of Three Wise Men and a Baby working together on a new project.

Tyler Hynes posted a video on Instagram over the weekend, that he filmed while walking through a busy Japanese restaurant and into a dimly-lit back room where his “Three Wise Men and a Baby” castmates, Andrew Walker and Paul Campbell, were sitting shirtless at a table, meanwhile looking as if nothing is out of the ordinary — and telling him to “take a seat.”

There is also features a split-second appearance of Kimberley Sustad, (who co-wrote the film script,) off to the right. :teeth:

I hope so! This was Hallmark Gold; I think the network saw that in the ratings!

Odds & ends Hallmark news:

● Jodie Sweetin just finished filming a yet-to-be-announced Hallmark mystery movie in Toronto.

● Alicia Witt is filming a horror-thriller, (NOT for Hallmark,) with Blair Underwood and Maika Monroe, titled Longlegs. FBI Agent Lee Harker (Monroe), a gifted new recruit is assigned to the unsolved case of an elusive serial killer, starring Nicolas Cage.

Recently, when a fan asked whether the horror film meant she’d “given up” on making Hallmark movies, Witt replied that she’d love to return but is still waiting for an offer.

She wrote, “While my offers over the past two and a half years have not included any from Hallmark, I would always be open to making another movie there – my heart would be very happy to make another Christmas movie with them this year! 😍 I miss making them.”

Back in December 2022, she replied to another fan who asked on Twitter about her status with Hallmark, saying that her name may have gotten lost in the shuffle after the network went through a change in leadership in 2020.

● Bethany Joy Lenz filmed A Biltmore Christmas at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina, with Kristoffer Polaha for Hallmark, back in January. In the movie, Lenz portrays a screenwriter who writes a remake of a 1947 movie that was filmed at the Biltmore House. While taking a guided tour, she accidentally is sent back in time to 1946 as the cast prepares for the Christmas movie.

On a different career path, Bethany is currently writing and recording music for a country music album. “I don’t have a title yet,” she said. “We’re still putting songs together. But I’ve been having some fantastic writing sessions and just slowly we’re piecing it together. You know, it’ll be ready when it’s ready.”

Lenz, who has a background in musical theater, added, “I just love country music. I grew up in Dallas until I went to New Jersey, so it’s in my blood. And I love telling stories, and there’s no way you can tell stories in music the way you can in country music.”

According to her IMDb bio, Lenz has a four-octave range and was trained in New York by Richard Barrett, the director of the Brooklyn College of Opera. She has released music over the years, including recording the song “Listen” for her Hallmark movie “Five Star Christmas.”

I think I just found an article which reports that the idea of a sequel has been squashed.

In an article by Heavy .com: Kimberley Sustad & Paul Campbell Are Working on 2 New Movies at Once

"Sustad and Campbell had been working as a writing team for a couple of years when Hallmark asked them to play with an idea it had been considering: combining Campbell with two other network fan favorites — Andrew Walker and Tyler Hynes — to star in a movie based on the 1987 hit “Three Men and a Baby,” Campbell told MediaVillage.

Campbell said, “They got (us) on the phone and said, ‘We’d love to do a movie with these guys. Would you guys be interested in writing it? What can you come up with for a story?’ They kind of planted the seed and then (Kimberley) and I grew the tree.”

“My aim with Kim was to write natural-sounding dialogue in the way people speak, but that’s not always the case,” he continued. “We know Tyler and Andrew, so we knew how they spoke and had their voices in mind. But I handed the script over, and as soon as we got on set, I was no longer a writer. Anybody that came up with something funnier than what was on the page won.”

Between Sustad and Campbell’s writing, and the stars’ ad-libbing, the comedy was a smash hit, paving the way for them to keep writing the funny material they love. Right now they’re working on two movies at the same time, Sustad told TV Fanatic in an interview published on March 11, 2023.

She said, “Paul and I are writing a script called ‘My Week in Wyoming,’ which is going to be an amazing tale. It’s almost like a ‘City Slickers.’ And it’s not Christmas, but it’s really funny.”

The second movie is top-secret, she said, but one they have high hopes for.

“We’re also working on a Christmas movie that we’re writing, and I’m not allowed to say anything about that one,” she continued, “but it’s also going to, I hope, blow the doors off as well. So we’re having a lot of fun doing that simultaneously, actually.”

Many fans have expressed hopes for a “Three Wise Men and a Baby” sequel, but Campbell told Wide Open Country in December that it’s more likely the three leads will reunite in new roles.

“The consensus was that a sequel would probably be a mistake only because it’s so difficult to rekindle that magic and tell a different story, but the same,” Campbell said. “We want to take the three of us — the three boys — and keep making different movies with the three boys. Reinvent ourselves every time. And so I think we can have a lot of fun.”

At the time, he said they had “one idea that’s already percolating” which they planned to pitch to Hallmark Channel, so it’s possible that’s the Christmas movie he and Sustad are currently developing."

Sunday's episode of The Way Home was heart-wrenching.... ugh, I just knew it was going to turn out that Kat was involved somehow in her father's accident.... I don't want this series to end. I really like the characters.

I'm all for this -- have the three guys in new movie situations. That sounds like a lot of fun for the audience as well!

I know some people love her, but I'm just as happy without Alicia Witt in my Christmas movies.
I am looking forward to the BJL/KP movie! They are two of my favorites :D

Okay, I have to ask, for those of you who are watching The Way Home, is it really angsty?

I haven't seen it yet. But in all the weekly preview commercials, they just show all the women all having problems with each other. And it gets progressively worse over time. :headache: I'm not sure I want to watch 10 episodes of angst and heartache and angst and heartache.

Apparently the new Hallmark heads don't love her. :lmao:

I liked her in about 3 movies. And she does require special scripts that fit her personality. For instance, in A Very Merry Mix-up, the character really had to thread the needle between being way too dumb versus just naive enough to get in a car with a stranger and drive to his home, believing they are her future in-laws. Yet, I think Alicia was able to pull that off. I really like that movie. Also, The Christmas List.

Yes! When scanning for news to post, sometimes I just go by stuff I read and keep going. But, I thought many people here may be interested in hearing about this pairing. :thumbsup2

Well, there is definitely some heartache, but it's not all based on the women's relationships. The key premise involves time travel, so if you like a little science fiction mixed in with in your Hallmark, you'll probably enjoy it.

Hmm. I mean, it is somewhat, but I feel like it's worth it. It is strong subject material. There are definitely light and fun moments as well.

For me the mystery is worth the angst. ☺️
