DVC for less has taken the fun out of treasure hunting

Well like if I don't go on for a few hours and they added let's say 12-15 more listings and they all become a jumble of AKV or SS or OKW and I would love to know which ones are new since my last visit.
You could make offers on them all and only the ones that haven't accepted would remain. 😂

I would assume sort by days listed, but maybe 0 or 1 days doesn’t take into account the order they came in.?

Yes, though I will add that there are some pretty big changes coming to the dealscore algorithm soon as well. The valuation of current and next year points are being tweaked (increasing in value) and we're making a change to the way that listings are compared against each other. Currently, listings are compared solely against their peers (same resort and points-on-contract band), and while listings will continue to be compared to resort peers, we're adding some "blending" so that the point-bands don't result in such harsh boundaries. Hard to explain but the end result should be more consistency. Big thanks to a fellow disboards member and data scientist (Howie) for working with us on these changes. More to come.

In addition, and as a preview to exclusively to the disboards community we'll soon be releasing a "hottest deals" page. The goal of this page is to make it easier for you to compare listings that are currently on the market, with those that have recently sold. You can also view the listing popularity. Check out the preview here https://www.dvcforless.com/hottest-deals Note: you need to create a free login to view this page.
This is great. Any chance you can also add the broker to the page? Either the logos like on the main listings or just a column with where it is. I always feel like that helps identify where the best deals are consistently coming from.

They tend to be in order of when they get scraped by the site.
I like to order by age, newest to oldest. I usually click on the one at the top, if I'm interested or not, next time I come back the hyperlink is purple instead of white. My way of "bookmarking" where I was. Only works on desktop though

Lets chat! I'd genuinely love to get your feedback. We have some tweaks planned to the scoring logic but nothing remotely set in stone so your feedback would be very welcomed. PM me.

Some current areas of focus:
  • Tweak our valuation of current-year excess/missing points.
  • Adjust for broker fees.
  • Improved logic for when seller is "paying the dues".
  • Adjust for broker promotions (eg $500 rebate for closing costs)
  • Possible penalties for certain contract types (i.e. jumbo contracts of 500 points or more).
We recently added price history to the listings and normalized our statuses across brokers. We're currently working on adding new statuses so you can easily track and alert for "rare" listings like Aulani subsidized dues, guaranteed weeks, non-negotiable pricing, etc.
It is a fantastic site! I’m addicted to it. Definitely helping me find the perfect deal for me.

for a good deal. Maybe I’m the only one but I enjoyed scouring all the different sites over a cup of Joe to find that diamond in the rough. Now it takes 30 seconds. Efficient for sure but not as fun.
I've found many mistakes in their listings to be honest some with more points than posted some with less.I wouldn't put too much stock into it.

If you are referring to the aggregator, it’s just a side effect of trying to pull from multiple sites with different formats. Also the individual stores not being consistent can throw a wrench into it too. You still need to go to each listings site to get the actual info, the aggregator is a good start.

Eggxatly.I was looking for AKL with an Aug UY first I found a 135 point contract that they stated had all points for 2025 and 2026 when I called the broker they told me the contract was stripped until 2026 ,we walked. Another contract ,different broker was for 160 points the site said 60 2024 and 160 2025,seemed reasonable enough but when I called the broker I was pleasantly surprised that 2024 had 160 and 2025 had 160 points. Ding Ding Ding ,,,Winner Winner Chicken Dinner.

Thanks for sharing your experience! We’re always striving to improve the accuracy of the data we display, and for most brokers, this is pretty straightforward since they provide explicit data fields for available points. However, a few brokers use inconsistent language in their listings, which makes it tricky to reliably extract this information using regular expressions—sometimes, even a human would struggle to interpret it correctly.

That said, brokers have been reaching out to us recently to ask how they can ensure better consistency, and many have made changes on their end to help us represent their listings as accurately as possible. Neither the broker nor the buyer benefits when we're not accurate, so this is always an area that we focus on improving, and one that I'm confident we'll perfect.

One feature we're adding soon, is the ability for dvcforless.com users to point out inaccurate data they spot when browsing the site. This will help us make corrections quickly.

Interesting to hear brokers are reaching out. On one hand I see it benefits them as getting more eyes on their listings, on the other hand it shows their competitors listings.

www.*************.com actually mentioned www.dvcforless.com in their weekly YouTube vlog this week, went into the "What should I offer" tool. Again, found it interesting they mentioned it as it also brings attention to the competition. But if you've made it down that far the resale rabbit hole, you've most likely found the other brokers too.

We added the broker logos today, in addition to improving the mobile view on the hottest deals page.

Does DVC for Less capture contracts that are sold very quickly on the broker websites? Or does it only add ones that are currently available? I know there is an inactive listings toggle, but wasn't sure if contracts would even be aggregated if they were listed and sold before the aggregator saw them.
